The battery alone is 30lbs, then you have the motor/generator and controls systems. in total its about 100lbs for that.

One thought in regards to tire's limiting the payload;
I inspected my setup, with the Nexen Roadian HTX RH5 275/55R20 SL

the payload/pressure chart is:
29psi - 2121lbs
32psi - 2293lbs
35psi - 2465lbs
36psi - 2535lbs

with an axle rating of 3900lbs front and 4100lbs rear, the tires could be at their minimum pressure and still not be the weakest link in this equation. Minimum rated pressure (29psi) would be 4242lbs max operating payload. At the specified door sticker ratings: 36psi, it would be 5070lbs per axle based on tires. unless they are compounding safety factors, maybe they don't fully trust tire ratings? hmmm... ford exploder/firestone?

another note to think about is your spare... if your running near max payload, that ~110T spare is gonna be hurting if you have to use it.

As stated many many times. Tires are not the limiting factor.

All trucks have a GVWR. The thing that limits payload is options and accessories.

A tradesman will have near 2000lbs. A limited will have near 1000lbs. They are the same truck. They have different options.

A half ton is 1000lbs. 1500 series would be an avg of 1500lb.

So anything above 1500lbs is a blessing...anything under means you got some cool options.

I don't think the E Torque is what is giving him the low rating. My Rebel has the E Torque and I have 1527 LB available.

Cummins equipped trucks can quite easily get under 2k.
You can also search for trucks on the ram website and then copy and paste the vin into the towing and payload section of the site

Ok I put together a spreadsheet with all the payload and option info we have on Limited trim/4x4/5'7". Based on the spreadsheet the following numbers work exactly for all the trucks so far (except ryelinek). These are still a work in progress so there will be more refinement.

Here's the weight of the most common options (as near as I can tell till we get more data):

Limited trim - 166lbs
Bed utility group - 25
Level 1 - 86
Advanced safety group - 50
Sunroof - 70
Anti spin - 16
eLocker - 16
3.92 Axle ratio - 0
eTorque - 80
Brake controller - 0 (not full tow package)
Body colored bumpers - 0
22" wheels - 0 (vs 20" standard wheels)
33 gallon fuel tank - 73 (91 if eTorque equipped)
Offroad Group - 119 (minus eLocker)
Ramboxes - 163

To test this, start with the payload listed in the towing chart for the 4x4/Crew Cab/Hemi/5'7" bed configuration (1800lbs). Then subtract the weight of each option to get to the number on your payload sticker.

If you have a Limited/4x4/5’7” and get a different payload number let me know what your payload sticker says and a full list of your factory options and I can try to refine the numbers.

Other option weights (not specific to any trim)

Wheel to wheel side steps - 60
4 corner air suspension - 34
6’4” bed - 50
4x4 - 240 (but you get 200 more GVWR so 40 net reduction in payload)

Do you have this spread sheet? I’m trying to calculate my payload because I’m almost positive i won’t have enough for my trailer. And now I’m gonna have to order a 2500 instead.

Based on those options I’d estimate 1350 payload. The spreadsheet won’t give exact number for a Laramie. I did post up the weights of some common options in post #108 of this thread
