Wow! Lots of info since I last posted here, after activating my trailer brake controller and security alarm. Lots of reading to "catch up".
A couple of quick questions....
The new version of AlfaOBD... will my Android device automatically update it, if it's internet capable? If not, is it a "seamless" update off of the AlfaOBD site?
Have the bugs been fixed yet? (I don't want to eff up my trailer brake controller.)

I saw the "drop fog light" disable setting (or whatever the terminology is), but is it possible to set the fogs to function as DRLs, or to switch on independently of the headlights, just using the foglight switch?

Thanks all.
Hope everyone has a better new year, than last.

I would tend to agree. There is so much vehicle configuration control in the factory units that an aftermarket head unit would never cover. What you CAN do is upgrade from what you have to a higher teared factory unit. For example remove your UConnect 8.4 and install the UConnect 8.4 NAV, or even the UConnect 12. These are plug and play (for the most part) after a reflash with AlfaOBD.
Hey there. I’m wanting to upgrade from the 5” to the 12” in my 2021 rebel. Can you tell me if that Alfa of is easy to use to flash the head in order to make it work?

Could the seat easy entry/exit be added through Alfa? And also adding memory seats as well? I know I would have to buy the part on the drivers door with the buttons but do I need any other harnesses or is that just a simple add on through Alfa? Had it on my Laramie and don’t have it on the Rebel and would like to add them both if possible

Yep. Can be toggled on. If you get the module under the seat I sent ya that's part of the system as well. Guessing you already have power pedals? The door panel will need modified or replaced. The buttons are built into the center section by the handle. As parts become available I was looking at it myself but at dealer pricing it's a big chunk of change.

Thank you sir! Yes I have power pedals and as far as the module goes under the seat, I am looking to buy full sets of fronts like you recommended so even if it takes me a whole year, I’ll just wait it out until I find a pair (even if super used and abused) since I’ll swap my covers over.

since I need that module for easy entry/exit I’ll hold off as well until I completely do everything later on

Just so people know, if you have power seats already, just adding the module and switches isn’t enough. The seat motors will need to be replaced, also, because the standard power seat motors aren’t memory capable.

Thank you sir! I’ll definitely do this later on once I do the seat swaps.

Is there a way to disable the fog lights from coming on when turning left or right? now that I am running LED pods where the fogs were, it is drawing a lot of attention when I toss my turn signal on, or have the wheel turned left or right.

The only thing I’m seeing that pertains to that feature is to set these two settings to 10 degrees:
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Cornering Lamp Actual Angle
2014 CBC Config I/O & Feat: Cornering Lamp Not Actual Angle

Thank you. When my cables arrive I will give that a try. If not I may just have to run the lights on their own separate circuit.

Turned on another feature on my 2020 BH.
Used alphaodb to turn on the tailgate open notification. Also now when I open the tailgate the bed lights and cargo lamps come on now (y) View attachment 63408 View attachment 63409
I installed lasfit leds in the rear and I changed the options to leds for all exterior lights but I still have these two codes showing up when I check the codes, anyone have an idea what I need to do so it recognizes I have leds bulbs back there?

Can You show me how to turn on the warning?
Thank you

I just did this tonight after installing my OEM Bed lights. I noticed the lights didn't turn on when I opened the tailgate.

To turn on your bed lights when you open the tailgate (mine was included on build sheet not on window sticker)
Check your build sheet here https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing

Alpha OBD settings
ECU config 4 - Tailgate Ajar Indication: Yes (Already enabled)
CBC Config IO F pin 26 Connector F Pin 26: Trunk/Liftgate Ajar Signal Input Present: No (Turn to YES)

It works on the 2021s just fine. They’re all the same settings, there’s just a few missing that you can’t enable yet, like the reverse trailer steering module and the digital rear view mirror. Other than that, everything else can still be enabled.

I have a 2020 2500 and I can change the status of things but nothing changes. I can check the settings and they are staying set (I.E. windows global down shows "yes" but does not work) I am using the KaodTech bypass cable. One thing I would like is the option to change the Uconnect display settings, meaning the background, but can not find anything to do that. Any suggestions?

The windows global down does not seem to work for the DT trucks (or 5th gen cabs for the 2500s).

As for background changes the only options I have found are Vehicle Brand and Splash Screen Type. These both pertain to what shows when the uConnect boots up (prior to the warning with the Accept button).

The uConnect background (and EVIC background if you have it) are user selectable but you only get those "themes" if you get the factory NAV unit.
