yes it can. I just use mine as a bypass last week. but unmarry it from the truck before you use it as a by pass. per Z Automotive. I can send the email where i asked them the same question 2 weeks ago.
As a bypass? Just curious?

The security gateway bypass that is sent with the tazer DT can also be used as the security gateway bypass for AlfaOBD. The tazer does not have to be unmarried from the truck in order to make changes with AlfaOBD.

Looking at doing the following adjustments with AlphaOBD and curious if they are doable.

Did we figure out if we can setup auto-fold mirrors on exit/entry?
Turn off Seat Belt Warning
Keep Fog lights on all times
Anything special with adjusting tire sizes?
Auto fold mirrors can’t be done on the Rams with AlfaOBD.
If the setting in the instrument cluster lost doesn’t work, the the seatbelt warning can be disabled using the standard method in the owner’s manual.

Fog lights staying on with high beams? Yes, by setting front fog light dropout enable to “no”.

Shouldn’t be anything special for tire size. If you manually enter the size, it’s looking for the circumference in centimeters. If you get errors with the ABS afterwards, you’ll need to run the ABS initialization procedure.

You rock man! I was thinking fog logs on with DRL lights.

there may be a special circumstances for this. My AlfaOBD doesn't turn on auto fold Mirrors or I haven't found it yet but it will turn on reverse tilt mirrors. My Tazer DT will turn on both the auto folding and the reverse tilt. The Tazer DT doesn't have to be unMarried but Z automotive requested I unmarry it when I asked them. I figure it is a safer than sorry type thing.

For auto fold mirrors, I’m speaking specifically about alfaOBD, since that is what this thread is a out, and AlfaOBD can’t do it. Tazer can, but it has to remain plugged in to do it, because it is modifying the messages to the power fold mirrors.

How sure are we about that Tazer sending a modded message to the mirrors? Are your 100%?
Yes. That is why it is a “live function”, and the tazer needs to remain plugged into the OBD port for the mirrors to auto fold. It’s just sending an “if this, then that” message that they created over can bus.
I’m the one who had Alexey (the developer of AlfaOBD) add the auto fold mirror settings to the Ram BCM list carried over from the Grand Cherokee settings list. We determined that, while they share the same BCM, the firmware of the Ram BCM’s does not support the factory feature from a grand Cherokee.

AWESOME!!
Again, very curious about this Tazer, and want one to play around with, backward engineer a little. Curious I am. Also, seeing you seem like that guy who may know...The CHMSL. Does that encompass the cargo lamps as well? Or just cover the brake seeing it’s called the center high mount stop light. Does the cargo lamps have a led option?

The LED CHMSL setting covers both the stop lamp and cargo lamps circuits for when the cargo cam CHMSL is used. Normally, all exterior lighting uses PWM when halogens are used. The LED light settings shuts off the PWM on the circuit so LEDs can be used without flickering or throwing errors. This setting in particular is also important if LEDs are going to be used in the upper brake light. If the LEDs installed in that spot have poor quality filtering circuits built in, along with the PWM, they could potentially cause EMI with the RF Hub mounted close by. Since the brake needs to be pressed for the rf hub to send the start command, it’s possible that cheap LEDs could interfere with the RF Hub and cause something like a “key fob not detected”. Shutting off the PWM to that brake lamp circuit will nearly eliminate that phenomenon.

Great! This is what I’ve been seeing. Where are the RF hubs? I think I know, but.. more so, not so much an issue with the cargo lamps, but the brake LED.
Also, when changing the settings, how many key cycles till this takes effect? I know with Some settings it takes a couple key cycles. Lights for example.
I’ve also noticed that the missing key fob error comes up with the keys in the center console change holder area. With them on me, they work.
I thought my issues were cleared up, I’m using lasfit bulbs.. But one might be giving me trouble. So, going to try a few things. I have an extra, so I’ll start there, as well, install it 180 deg from what it was. ****s and giggles.

Where are the LED CHMSL setting listed under in AlphaOBD? I need to update these for sure, been having some random weird fob issues since swapping bulbs.

Connect to BCM figure out what ver you have 1-4. Then go to the third icon In on bottom right. Select the drop down Go to the bottom of the list and select set up vehicle or customer settings. Its Like the 2 or 3rd from bottom. Then another window opens. Scroll down to Whwre you start to see LED options. Right past the 10 led settings you’ll see the one for CHMSL. And then select... from that point select to YES. Then hit start, and changes will apply. Back out of Alpha and cycle your key. It may take an ignition cycle or two. Mine are enabled now, and still having some issues. I’m going to try a few things and see what happens. I’ll report my findings.

So, I have a question. Has anyone been able to get into the audio system portion of the programming? I see it talks about different cables and such! Anyone? Any ideas?

Yes. As far as the adapter cables, if you have the OBD link MX, it already has the necessary protocols, so no adapters needed. I can’t speak for the other cheaper interfaces. Since you have a security gateway module, the radio’s CAN C and CAN IHS wires are hung off of the gateway by itself so nobody can access the rest off the vehicle’s CAN Bus through the radio. That means if you have the kaodtech type bypass with the OBD connector pass through, you can’t connect to the radio module. If you have the type of bypass that REPLACES the security gateway module, you should be able to connect to the radio module. Once connected to the radio module, there’s nothing that can actually be changed. There are just a bunch of test procedures you can perform, such as turn the camera on for 10 seconds, test each speaker location for open circuits, balance, fade, read and clear faults in the radio module, etc. It’s not like the BCM where you can change bits.
