I have a 2019 1500 Laramie Sport Crew Cab 4x4, w/ Protection Group/Sport Appearance Package/Level 2 Equipment Group, etc. Both side mirrors started acting up, making noises and poping when opening and closing. The dealership decided to replace the passenger side. The new one they installed does not have autodimming, like the old one did. When I notified the dealership, they said that it doesnt show up and is not even an option for my truck. Both sides and the rear view mirror were autodimming from the factory. I certainly didnt add them myself. Now the dealership is acting like they cant put autodimming back on...they said they are contating "them" (whoever that is), I assume it's the factory, and they will let me know. This agevates me to no end...Who can I talk to about this?

I have the same truck and the passenger side does not dim. It's so stupid that they didn't put one on that side.

I believe the Limited/Longhorn models have passenger side mirrors that dim standard. Sounds like Laramie may have it as an option.
Possibly. I've seen this debate a while back. For some reason I'm thinking it ended in they just don't dim. Mine don't, but I do have a Bighorn with driver side dimming.

I’m also trying to figure out how to get the dimming to work. I’ve put a new mirror on with the dimming glass, but can’t get the dimmer to turn on. I know it is possible, just haven’t figured it out yet. Perhaps the door module needs the connectors to be plugged in differently? Perhaps a different sales code? Anyone have a Limited with the passenger auto dim and have a picture of the door module connection? Might help. Thanks.

Hi VAdiver,

I know that you are reaching out to fellow forum members, however if you are not able to determine a solution on this I kindly recommend following up with your servicing dealer. If you do work with your dealer and any support is needed for that process, please do not hesitate to send us a private message.

Ok... to bring everyone up to speed on this... I am getting the shaft. Both the dealer and RamCares says that only driver side is autodimming. I am so frustrated. Banging my head against the wall. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I‘m starting to think the wiring is different for trucks with the dimming. Can you pull the door panel off the passenger side and see if there is a purple connector with two purple wires plugged into slot “D” in the door module? If anyone with the dimming on the passenger side could do this and take a picture, that would be greatly appreciated. Its real easy to do. Thanks.
