Just finished the install today, had to deal with some snow flakes the last 20 minutes or so. Weather is not too pleasant right now.
Got it! Okay, don't worry about it..

There's no difference in capacity before and after. The insulation goes in the open area that the bin fits in. So, the bin itself is not affected.

Any reason for insulting the inside of the hole rather than outside of the bin?

I'm just thinking it would be easier to apply to outside of bin, rather than line the hole.

A good point, spray the outside underneath with maybe expanding foam?

Or line with gold foil? I've used that stuff for thermal isolation on intakes in other cars...

Self adhesive film that is very thin and easy to work with... if I were to insulate the bins, I'd probably go thst route - applying to outside of drop-in bins.

I keep bottled water in the driver side bin and they stay very cool... but once triple digits hit for several months in a row, I might do this insulation idea. I'm gonna see how cool it stays stock first though.

* side note - I can't figure out why quoted aren't appearing correctly

Don't want the insulation moving in and out. May need to clean the bin. Would rather have the insulation stay put in the truck.

Installed some red led in the front footwells, tied them into f66 in the fuse block under the steering wheel so they come on when the truck is on. I did this years ago on my ‘03 and loved them (used neon back then).
