What did you do to your Ram today???

Spent 10 minutes installing the after market bed extenders parts on the bed frame. Very happy to know working bed length can go from 5'6" to 7'0" in a pinch.

During the install, noticed the left tailgate cable (I don't know if there is an official name for this part) was loose when the gate was already down. The right one was taut. I'm not sure what proportion of weight placed on the open gate is born by these cables vs the hinge in the gate, but either way I assume both should be equally taut. Trouble is I see no simple way to adjust the length of the cable. Before cutting off the heat wrap on the loose one to learn more how it's connected, I wanted to see if any one else has this problem or a recommended solution?

Which parts did you get and where did you get them from?

Here's the tailgate parts you need to connect the bed extender. Make sure to order TWO of each, otherwise you'll be making two separate orders like me :) There is a plethora of online wholesale part resellers. Just Google the part numbers and price compare to save a few bucks. You'll probably spend somewhere between $80-90 incl Shipping.

Thanks, I just ordered a set.

Finished up the hard wire install of my new Uniden R3. Still need to decide on a dash cam.

color matched the hood vents and the headlight/grille trim (not sure what the actual name of that part is}

How did you hardwire it? I have the same unit.
Bought a hard wire kit off ebay which includes an add a fuse. Also bought the mirror mount from the same seller. Specify you need a micro fuse when you buy. Easy to route thru the headliner and down the a pillar to the fuse box under the steering wheel. Should take about 20 minutes once you have all the parts. I used fuse number 66 which is only on when the truck is on. Here's the link to the post with good pics. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/hard-wire-dash-cam-install.550/

Removed the chrome badges and replaced them with black versions.

Replaced the halogen headlights with LED headlights I got from Shanesrt8, major difference in my opinion. Still waiting on the LED taillights from retroshop to ship but I'm hoping they'll be here soon.

20% ceramic tint on the front windows.

Hoping to give my checking account a lil break and then looking to purchase a set of 22" OEM sport wheels.View attachment 44094View attachment 44095View attachment 44096
Do you have to remove the grill to remove “ram” front grill badge ?

Excellent thank you ..... so they should just pop out nice and easy and nothing should go wrong like any other mod
No, their kind of a pain to remove. I used a razor blade to cut off one the tabs to pry them off with a plastic pry tool. The retractable razor blade with the snap off blades works the best.
