Slight vibration

Has anyone tried counteract balancing beads? I know there is mention of it in some of the other threads but not this one.
Over the weekend I tried rebalancing the tires and although they were all out of balance I can’t say having them balanced made a difference. I then took the advice of a friend who owns the shop I used to work at and static balanced them (basically means you put all of the weight in the back side of the wheel instead of a dynamic balance where it is spread out between the front of the rim and back of the rim).
To my surprise, there was no difference with that either. Based on my findings, I’m back at the idea that there is something else with the truck.

Same here mines back at the dealer for a 3rd time..I got 4000 miles on mine shakes around 55-60mph they called today and said they have put new wheels and tires and it’s still doing it..mine is a lamarie with all upgrades including air ride and etorque with 392 gears..so far i been disappointed in my first purchase of my ram..Mines had a screen replacement,rear camera replacement wheels and tires replacement..and I haven’t got to my first oil change

Update: Currently in the middle of my 3,000 mile trip after dealer replaced all four tires with a different set of Goodyear's (due to the vibration noticed during test drive, then balanced and immediately after purchase). After driving 1700 miles on these new tires, I still believe the ride is much improved. However, a slight vibration is still there. Vibration sweet spot is like others have said at 60 mph. I now have 3k miles total on the truck and can live with this (current) level of vibration. Since this was my first ever Ram purchase, I made sure to lease instead of buy. Hopefully Ram comes out with a fix, because they have a winner with this truck, but they NEED to improve reliability.
As far as determining the problem; I think it must involve something that rotates. I think we can rule out tires and wheels based on all of our experiences. However, tires can/does improve ride, but only because (I believe) it softens the ride and helps absorb the vibration? Plus the stock tires a crap and prone to flat spots. I've heard others mention the drive shaft and I still feel that the vibration dampers could be functioning incorrectly. I just don't know...

I had 800 miles on my truck when I noticed the vibration, I was making a 4 hour drive home to pick up my brother for an 7500 mile road trip.
I have the same issue but I can slightly feel it in the steering wheel too... so seat, floor, pedal, wheel. I rarely drive 55 mph, I’m either under 50 or over 75. I do when slowing down hit the 55 to 60 range and catch a glimpse there but I really get it between 75 and 82.
I thought tires out of balance and since I used to run a tire shop I went there and balanced them myself. They were all out no less than 1.5 ounces and I figured for sure that would fix it but it has not.
I have the longhorn 4x4 with 20’s and 3.92. Has anyone with 20’s tried slapping a set of OE 18’s on to see if there is a difference?

l am at 9800 miles and ready to pull my hair out over this. Know that I know it’s not balance I will have to take it to the dealership. I was really hoping over the past couple weeks someone would have found a resolution other than Michelin’s for a 90% fix. I bought my first Jeep to get out of a shaking Volkswagen. Had two JK’s with 50+ k miles and never a wobble or shake but they are exhausting to drive. I was sooooo excited to have this truck for my trip and long commutes and this is absolutely ruining it.

It seems like anyone that's had issues with their tires have not had permanent resolutions to their vibration issues. Fixing any tire issues, and/or alignment issues, at best, seems to help lessen the vibration, but not resolve it.

Nearest I can tell from the recent posts, the most popular culprits at this point seem to be:
1. Bad BCM
2. Bad differential/driveshaft
3. Bad anti-vibration dampers

Hell, like @RuggedLongHorn I'm afraid to drive my truck over 60 mph because that's when the real vibration starts happening, and it just gets worse and worse as you increase the speed into the 70's. But I've been hoping someone would have found the "unicorn" solution to this, but I'm not sure if anyone can say without a doubt that they have found a permanent solution to their vibration/wobble issues, especially for any length of time. But for all the posts about tires, I just don't see the tires being the main culprit.

Hi I had same problem with my new ram 1500 changed my tires had bridgestone dueler terrible tire I purchased Michelin defender and made a huge difference but about 5,000 k down the road I'm feeling little bit of vibration and all the imperfections in the road now so I'm not sure what it could be now

Driving back from lunch today my truck is doing the loud exhaust noise and severe vibration it has only done once before. I took video on my phone. The vibration was so severe it rattled the bottle of water in the cup holder. This is much different than the typical “slight vibration”. Wish I could’ve driven straight to the dealer, but have to get back to work.

Curious. Anyone completely replace their wheels and tires with after market products like Nitto Grapplers and custom wheels, and still have the vibration issue? Because if anyone is still having the vibration issues with non-stock wheels and tires, then it's definitely not the tires causing the problem and something else.

Did they replace them with the same brand tires and the same brand wheels? What tires are they? Bridgestone? Goodyear? and what size wheels?

They put the same brand on my wheels..still vibrated..also put a new set of the same wheels and tires on the truck did the exact same thing..so now my truck is setting at the dealer until they fix it..I got all options on my truck too..mines the factory 22inch wheels like in the pics..I’m air-ride suspension..also

It isn't the tires most times. If feels nothing like a tire issue to me. More crunchy then unbalanced tire.

Going to continue following this thread. I've also had my tires rebalanced, I've put new tires on, and I've also been in for some transmission updates to see if that relieved it. Oddly enough they all temporarily relieved the issue. But after a few days it comes right back. 60mph is when it's at its worst.

Just some notes from this. It seems to feel the worst in the driver's seat for me. I dont know if that's because we are the most connected to the road, but I've had other people drive to verify this. When I sit in the back seat I actually dont feel it much other than the floorboard in certain spots. Seems to resonate through the rear of the truck to the rear of the drivers seat, floor board. If anyone else wants to give that a shot to see if its consistent. It makes sense why passengers in the back seat or if your service advisor don't feel it as much as you if your the one driving.

I also feel like it's a rotational vibration but at this point we can rule out the tires/wheels. Members have had driveshafts replaced with no luck either. Which leads me to believe most are dealing with the same exact vibration issue. Positive is if one person or dealer can truly come up with a fix, it would solve so many members issues. Downside, I've seen members win Lemon law cases over this which makes me believe they know the issue but it's too expensive to put out there as a bulletin/recall. Hope I'm wrong with the last part.

Just a update on mine..they are checking rear end out tomorrow..I hope they get this fixed..if not I guess they will have to do a buy back because I can’t drive it like it is..if they did do a buy back I think I would buy the same truck again..because I love my truck when I have it..maybe the 2020 don’t have the problem..I don’t know but I hope they call me tomorrow and say we found it

Will do..I talked to a guy a on another page that had the problem he went after market wheels and it didn’t change so he decide to throw the truck on the alignment rack and said the front to rear was out of wack and lined it up and it drives like a dream

I have this same problem with vibration between 58 - 63 mph. I noticed this the first week driving my brand new RAM 1500 Laramie and I thought it may have been the road. As time went on I recognized it wasn't the roads and it was a problem with the truck. I brought it back to the dealer at 5000 miles for an oil change and told them to look at the tire balance because it was vibrating at certain speeds. The dealer re-balanced the tires but that did nothing. Then they did a Road Force Balance on all four tires and that did noting. I am calling the dealer tomorrow to see what the next step is. The service tech drove with me and felt the vibration so they can't say they didn't feel it. Also it seems to do it more on the deceleration coming down a hill. I read somewhere that it could be the ECO / MDS mode. I think it might have something to do with etorque feature. This is very frustrating especially after paying over $50K for this truck. I loved the truck and I really would like to get it fixed but I don;t have any faith in the manufacturer right now as I read through all these post.

Unhappy RAM owner (this is my fourth RAM) time to look at other makes and models.

Buddy sounds exactly like my problem..I have the same truck etorque and all..mines been at the dealer for 4 weeks now it’s getting old..

Mine booked out at 59,900 I got everything offered and this is my first Ram I was told by several people to not spend a lot of money on a Ram..They good cheap trucks but the options want last..I figured hell I bought a SRT8 challenger and had zero problems on it..Now I got 4000 miles on it and it’s been at the dealer 5 times and it’s been there for a month this week..Radio went out,then rear camera went out,sliding rear window loose tires was messed up..now this vibrating issue ..I have bought 6 cars from the dealer and always got good service I’m starting to think this truck was a huge mistake..
