Anybody else notice a chirp/squeak noise coming from the rear of vehicle when hitting bumps or any uneven terrain (road or off-road)? I believe its coming from the driver's side but I may be wrong. Hoping its a simple fix like lube or re-torque of suspension parts. Please let me know if this has happened to you and what the fix may be.

I had what you describe on my 2018 HD 2500, turned out to be the bracket that holds the emergency brake cable.

I used to have a bunch of them. Had:
1974 Formula 4 speed
1979 10th anniversary Formula
1979 WS6
1992 convertible
1996 WS6
2002 WS6 Collector Edition

Never had a 1st gen though, almost bought a 69, wish I had.

Yeah I have a chirp from the driver’s side rear most noticeable when the rear tires go over a speed bump.

Took it in for service. Dealer test drove another truck on their lot, supposedly it made the same noise so they told me it was normal and sent me on my way. I could understand if my truck was 10 years old with 100k miles on it, but at the time I took it in my truck was 6 months old with less than 4k miles on it.

Like you said I’m guessing something needs to be greased or tightened, but I can’t figure out what it is. Let me know if you figure out anything please.

Exactly what my 2500 would do

Will do! Hopefully its something minor and easy to identify.

I have a chirp from left side when going over 1" drops like delaminated missing pavement. I thought it was from front wheel area and I have Rebel with air suspension. I assumed maybe swaybar bushing squeaks. I only hear it if window down so figured it isn't a big deal as I hate to let dealers mess with it if not necessary. Truck is 13 months old with 6800 miles and hasn't been back to dealer yet. (changed oil myself) (there are recalls that I do need to address though)

Jump underneath and start shaking stuff and see what you find. You could try some lube spray of choice and hit anything that looks like it moves/shifts/pivots.

I had a squeak like that and it turned out to be the tailgate latches. I just happened to notice when the tailgate was open, they were dry and covered with rust powder. A little white grease and the squeak was gone.

Yes, I have an appointment with Elk Grove CDJR in Northern CA tomorrow. If they give me the lazy runaround what can you do to assist? It's obvious I'm not alone here.

Tried unsuccessfully, I need some speed to reproduce.

I recently just started hearing the Chirp on divers side while going over speed bumps. A small annoinance but I would like to make it go away. I will get underneath the truck in the next few days and see what I can shake to try and reproduce the sound and report back. The truck has a little over 8000 miles on it.

I came into this forum looking for a answer to this as well. 19' Laramie just over 1000 miles on it and notice the squeak over small bumps also. Seems like if i apply light pressure to the brake pedal going over these bumps i do not hear it anymore. Very curious to know what it is.

Update: Dealer acknowledged issue and was able to replicate the chirp/squeak. They asked to keep the vehicle for the day and gave me a 2019 SLT Ram Classic as a rental... wouldn't you know it the Ram Classic doesn't make a peep! Talk about annoying
