That cubby is pretty much worthless. They should have put a 12v plug in there

Now that you mention it, if someone made a plastic panel to insert into the cubby opening (with CD/cubby removed) you'd have a perfect place to mount another 12V outlet or upfitter switches...

According to the 2020 Buyer's Guide, the CD player is included with the Level 1 or Level 2 Equipment Package.

My dealer went over the list and says no mention of CD player.

Well, how disappointing. When ordering the 2020, there was no online build app. So I just ordered everything as I built out the 2019. I was not told and not sure the dealer even knew.

But I was fiddling around with the center console and noticed a small cubby space above the phone charging pad.

Then I realized that’s where the CD player is supposed to be. Now I’m wondering if that was something I had to order and the dealer didn’t tell me. WHAT!? I’m pissed.

Since you have one of the first 2020's, how is the AC? Can you take some temps and post on one of the AC threads or better yet start a 2020 AC thread. TIA.

The CD Player is still available with certain packages. For the 2020 Laramie Longhorn is standard (also on Limited).

You sure the dealer didn't delete it when they ordered it?

All I can say is I have the 2020 Laramie Longhorn fully loaded and no CD. At this point not sure anything can be done. I’ve even tried to locate one I could buy to see if it could be installed and no luck finding one.

I’ll also get some temps when I get back from my trip.

Yeah....best you can get with streaming at this point is 5.1 surround. I haven't made the jump to an overhead center/dipole yet (room setup works against it) but use a 7.3 system (three 12" powered subs). The bass is excellent with the streaming audio but the lack of the signal for the other 2 channels sucks. That's why for any large scale/"epic" movies, blockbuster effect ones, etc. I will still rent or buy Blu Rays but for "message" dramas, comedies, etc. I will sometimes just use the stream and it's fine (not many comedies or run of the mill dramas need the THX, Atmos, 7. or 8. treatment). Also, I have a 3D capable projection system so I buy a lot of 3D Blu Rays (have to because there is no option to stream them).
Give it a couple of years and streaming should be a better option. There are two major video codecs either currently being rolled out or soon to be rolled out, with more on the way, that should bring much better compression and I believe also allow for higher sound formats. Of course, then there's the issue of when the various content providers will implement the new codecs, but that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

I may pull mine to put some aux switches in, if I do you are welcome to it.

If you do, let me know. I’d also like to know how difficult it is to get one out and then maybe I can figure out how to get one in.

I like how everyone is going on and on about old tech and new tech and whatnot. I had a 2016 big horn with no CD player and I thought I would never miss it. I added a CD player to my 2019 when I did the console swap and OMG I can't believe I went so long without one! I'm rediscovering all my old music. Yes, I have Pandora, YT streaming music, 160gb mp3 player with over 5,000 songs on it, etc etc... but none of that captures the experience of listening to a cd from start to finish. All sorts of cool tracks that I completely forgot about hidden in there. My wife is now jealous that she doesn't have a CD player in her Cherokee. New tech is great, but in this case it certainly doesn't replace the older tech. I haven't even touched on the sound quality difference as well...

You're never gonna believe this. you can rip the whole CD onto your phone and play every track. :ROFLMAO:

I do play the occasional CD, but i really wouldn't miss it. The last time I moved I threw away hundreds of CDs because they do nothing but take up space. That was over two years ago and I have never once wished I had them back. For me it is much more convenient to download to my phone. Even ten years ago I was loading everything onto a USB to play in my F350. I haven't cared about CDs since my 2002 Trans Am that had the multi disc changer in the hatch

I had a 1998 camaro with the changer in the back. I remember pulling over to change CD's on longer trips, lol. I hear what you're saying, I did the same thing, went all digital, but it was cool to play some of my old discs and hear the tracks that never made it onto playlists that I had forgotten about.

I drove through Canada this summer - above the Great Lakes - a one-way 24 hour drive through no-where’s-land. Before leaving, I went to the library and checked-out some books on CD. ... and I actually used that dang CD player in my Laramie! which I thought I never would. My Android Auto play list got wore out, as did my 70’s on 70 Satellite radio repeats patience, and boredom with leftist podcasts. Books on CD was a pleasure. Plus, the gigundo storage bin center console is big enough to store a 48 hour trip’s worth of CD’s. I laughed when I saw a CD player in the new Rams... but I’m not laughing any more. I’m actually happy to have it. Besides, an extra cubby in the Ram is the LAST thing it needs. It is already a over-cubbied. The center console should have just been a big insulated cooler in my opinion. A cold one will never fit in a CD player sized cubby.
