First dealer only did the pads. Took it to a different dealers and he said that usually doesn't fix it and that pads and rotors together usually does. Unfortunately it required getting Ram cares involved to get authorization but Ram cares did a great job working with the second dealer to get everything sorted. Hopefully after Thursday my brake issue will be solved for good.
Strange it required authorization for yours. I bought mine in and complained about the front brakes squealing and they order the pads and rotors right away. It took a while to get the parts back in May. I keep the loaner car for about a week and got tired of waiting so i picked the truck up. About a week later they got the parts, gave me another loaner, and fixed it in a day.

It had to do with the warranty. The first time I took it in the truck had 11,600 miles so the brakes were still warrantied. Dealer verified the issue and ordered pads. I continued to drive the truck while the parts were on order, Took 6 weeks to get the pads. at this point I had passed the 12000 mile mark which is where the brake warranty expires. Everything was quiet for about 3 weeks after they swapped the pads and the squeak came back a this point I was at 13500 miles and took it to a different dealer and explained the whole situation. Had to get Ram involved because I was technically passed the warranty period even though the repair itself that was done before the warranty expired didn't remedy the issue. Ram cares understood the situation and told the second dealer they were clear to do the work so they ordered up another set of pads with new rotors this time.

Took my truck into the dealer today at Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. They cannot get a fix authorized until they can duplicate the problem in their possession our find abnormal wear on the brakes. Neither of that happened today. So, now I start the roller coaster ride of taking it back and forth to the dealer several times, which is an inconvenience to me when there is a known problem with the brakes. A problem they even said they knew about all to well at the dealership when I dropped it off. This is why owners get frustrated., especially after spending $55,000 plus. I will call Ram Care!

When I went back to pick up my truck, I had the TSB’s and the star Case. I asked if it was a known issue, who do I need to talk to to get it fixed? I ended up talking to a manager, they ordered new front pads and rotors for installation on Monday. I hope it is just the front. The manager said based on his experience if they squeal moving forward it is most likely a front issue, if it squeals going backwards it is the back. I hope he is right, it sounds like the front to me.

Hello, after waiting a few weeks on parts, just had work completed. Brakes started squealing three weeks into ownership and got it to consistently to squeal after a 15 mile drive on local streets.

I did reference both the TSB 05-001-19 and Star Case S1805000008 I got from the forum, but my work order appears to just have brake pads and fluid changed. Here are the part numbers from the work order:
CH68412557-AC PAD KIT F 05003003
CH4318080-AD FLUID BRA 01081006
Notes from work-order:
C/S BRAKES SQUEAL STILL, PLEASE SEE IF STAR CASE AND TSB APPLY
TO THIS ISSUE, FRONT BRAKE STAR CASE S1805000008 REAR BRAKE
TSB 05-001-19
Cause: EXCESSIVE WEAR FROM BRAKES PADS, FOUND TSB 3
Correction: REPALCED BRAKE PADS, NO FURTHER NOISES HEARD AT THIS TIME 05702202

I have not checked this thread in a while and saw the ubolt and bracket picture. Mine does not have them nor does it look like my brackets were changed. Even though I reference the TSB(Rear) and Star Case(Front), looks like I just got brake pads and fluid change? I can't believe it took weeks on just brake pads if so. Not too confident this will eliminate the squeal but time will tell.... :(

Con

Was the work done on your back brakes or front?

I just bought my 2019 ram limited and already did a visit to service regarding the loud brake noise they send me back with “it’s normal “.Its really frustrating know you’re buying something new to not be struggling with old cars and it’s the same thing.Whats more disappointing that the service ppl in your dealership don’t want to help you out.The service person tired to tell me that I am no longer cover by my warranty. Can anyone help me or give me advice regarding this?

You said you just bought the truck, is the truck brand new or used, when was your truck built (there will be a date code on the inside of the drivers side door sill after the VIN number it will say TRUCK MDH:XXXXX the numbers after the "MDH:" are month day and hour), how many miles are on it, is it the front or rear brakes that are causing the issue?

I too have had the brake squeal issue..... multiple times now. First started at driver's front at about 4500 miles. Dealer told me they couldn't replicate. Then at 8000 I was fed up and took it in again after seeing the Star report. Dealer reviewed, told me they couldn't replicate again. I called BS and showed them a video I recorded of the issue. They apparently installed new calipers as the fix. At 15000 miles, the passenger front started squealing. Dealership has had the truck for a week and supposedly changed out this caliper. Picked up the truck last night and on the way home, the passenger front sings like a banshee. What's going on RAM? Why so many brake issues....?

I'm thinking about installing a hurricane warning horn and hooking it up to my brake pedal to drown out the squeal. That, or RAM needs to have a talk with my dealership.

So just got back from my 8th trip to the dealership. They replicated the noise, (which is mildly surprising after them constantly telling me they can never reproduce). Here’s the rub, since they have already changed the calipers, rotors and pads on the front, the only thing I got from FCA was approval to put on different composition pads. Guess what, no on makes aftermarket pads yet. So the answer from FCA is, oh well, deal with it.

This will definitely be the last FCA product I ever buy. So the question now is, do I wait until the aftermarket manufactures start producing kits, or do I just take the hit, bite the bullet and just go buy a different brand? It’s a shame really!

Frustrated here as well. Calipers, pads and rotors replaced throughout the 3 trips to the dealer. Each trip I've been without my truck for 4 - 6 days. Today I asked dealership what's the next step since they still squeal. Answer I got - from the Service Manager nonetheless..."Why don't you bring it in on Monday so we can diagnose the issue again. We may need Chrysler to come verify the issue." WTF does that mean....?

Love the truck, but c'mon man, its brakes. What's so hard about getting them to stop squealing? And FCA's customer service dept is a joke. I received a call about my service experience and told the guy on the other end my story. No joke, he says "Sorry sir, I cannot help you with the situation. But if you call XXXXXXX, someone there will take your information and get back to you discuss the issue." A VM was left over a month ago at the automated help line. Crickets since. What BS.....!!

Well, I do believe my brakes have been fixed. The relevant parts finally came in to the dealer and they replaced the rears. I still hear a high pitched squeal when braking to a stop, but I didnt think the rear brake groan issue was part that problem anyway. Point is the freight train groan is gone; I left the truck outside last night, we had a good amount of rain and first thing this morning I put it in reverse and it was silent! Hopefully it stays fixed. Im sure I'll update if the groan returns.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn full loaded. It also has the horrible brake squeal. Brought it in to a dealer and they found a service bulletin on it. It sounded as the rear brakes were squealing, The service dept. ordered new rotors and pads. We set up an appt to change them out. After driving home I noticed the squeal but not as bad. The brakes are still squealing and I wonder if the fronts need changed out as well. An earlier post suggested if the noise is going forward it’s the fronts? Anyone else hear of this. Very dissatisfied with the noise. After all I spent close to 70k , I shouldn’t ave to listen to the embarrassing squeal. Please help !,,

Updat: 8/22/19. Had rear pads and rotors changed, still hear squealing, might be from the front. Hard to tell. Now what??? Guess I’ll be calling up a service manager again and see what they can do. Unacceptable to have such loud noise coming from a brand new truck.
update, 2/14/20
had the front pads changed. Squealing has been totally gone now for 4 months. I think it is fair to say that any Ram 1500 owner whose brakes squeal need to have all 4 brake pads replaced, not sure if the rotors needed replaced as Ram did on a previous attempt, but definitely all pads. Squeal free since. Totally happy owner now. Love my Ram again.

On my truck squealing was coming from the front. Squealing and moaning was coming from the rear.

See Star Case S1805000008 (front brakes) and See TSB 05-001-19 REV. A (rear brakes)

@Fooleo44 Can you post the part numbers for the calipers, pads and rotors that they replaced for you? They did the same to mine, and I still get the squeal. @Neurobit had his replaced with a different rev or the caliper and actually a lower rev of the pads and his has been resolved. Wonder if there are some commonalities with ours?

I was the one who said that a service manager told me that if you heard the squeal moving forward it was most likely the front brakes. If it is the groan moving backwards it is most likely the back brakes. I had the front pads and rotors replaced a few weeks back, then before they had me pick it up they still heard the squeal. Said the new pads were defective. They kept it an extra day and supposedly replaced the pads and rotors again. I have driven about 800 miles with no squealing. Fingers crossed like many others?
