I went and visited the truck today. It was in a body shop with the front fender removed. They did a nice job of applying seam sealer to a joint that was way forward of where the water was coming in as well as it was below the bottom of the windshield. They said they will water test on Monday.
If not watertight, they will remove the windshield.

They didn't say they tried pouring water on that joint before sealing it to see if it could be the source of the leak...

We will see, but I think they will have to pull the windshield...unless maybe my understanding of gravity is wrong.

I posted this a while back and it may not be the cause of your leak but worth looking into. I have talked to several other owners that had front carpet leaks that originated from the rear drain grommets like mine did.

Yeah mine looks just like that as well .. so STILL an issue from the factory ..

BUILD 5 JULY 2019
DELIVERY 26 JULY 2019

My rears are fine - that was the 2nd thing I checked before driving off the lot.
The front's 'allowed' nearly 2 inches of water to puddle up in the trough area as your other posted photos show (other thread).

hi guys. my ram has a build date of 4/18. only issue is rear water leak near rear window. i have been doing a bunch of testing to find the leak. what im coming up with so far is these 3rd brake lights will leak only when the vehical is moving. it looks like while in motion the turbulance coming over the rear of the truck must be forcing water past the third brake light seal. at first i thought it was the rear window then i thought it was the gps antenna. im going to replace the 3rd brake light and silcone the whole thing. that should 100% take it out of the equation.

That’s what they did with mine

Update:
Since my Aug 10th update, my service writer called on the 12th to tell me that the body shop has to remove part of the cowl where the windshield wipers are and do some sealing there.

I went to the body shop on Tuesday, and they said they think they fixed the leak in the video, but another leak popped up and they have to take apart the cowl (as the service writer said)

Yesterday, Friday Aug 16, I visited the body shop again to see if they made any progress.
There was no progress. Nothing had been done since Monday. I reminded them that I need the truck for vacation next Friday, the 23rd and they said they will work on it on Monday. I called the service writer and expressed my concern about getting the truck back in time. She called back and said they will work on it today, Sat the 17th, and water test on Monday...

Fortunately, they put me in a 2019 Ram 4x4 Classic with only 400 miles on the odometer. If the truck is not done in time, I wonder how angry the rental company will be after I return it with about 3,000 extra miles after driving from Illinois to Colorado and back? We plan on doing some light offroading in the Ouray area. With a rental, it might not be light offroading.

Cheers
Gerry

Front Driver Side Leak :

as previously posted in https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/water-leak-and-wet-carpet-solved.6614/

Mine was built July 2019 - and after the 1st rain, I had 2 inches of water. Then after soaking it all up, it rained again :(
I felt mine would not leak since the issue had been reported for so long .. all my recalls were done, but not the major items which actually means something (to me).

(attached images)
(advised the new Service Manager who is well known at FCA and pointed out the forums here with all the information)
(logged into the software at work as started saving various STAR reports that FCA is aware of)

That’s exactly how/where my previous Rebel quad cab was leaking Diamondback - the dealer replaced the truck for me since we couldn’t find where the water was coming in. I’m thankful the replacement truck (crew cab this time) isn’t leaking (yet!).
I plan to keep in touch with the dealer to find out where it was leaking from when they find it.

3rd Brake Like seal (for the rear leak)

If you have the panoroof, the front tube drain. There are these plastic 'drains' that have "X"s cut into them to allow water to drain (seep) out but actually back up the water.

but -- a lot are leaking without the pano roof, so they had to dig deeper :
There is also a portion of the seal on the windshield that leaks more than the pano drain tube. The windshield has to be removed and the seal requires to be redone. (This was found by another user on here as well.)

I've only had mine 3 weeks and I can already start to smell the mildew smell after only 3 rains. :(

Those of you who had your headliners replaced have you heard of the dealer refusing to replace the headliners? I had to fight to get mine replaced I am nervous about them reinstalling the windshield. They said I may hear wind or noise from the windshield and they do not recommend it. I asked why they couldn't just replace the entire windshield. This all makes me nervous on a new truck.

So my service dealer in Dallas area replaced my headliner no questions asked. They ended up going through my rear window so they replaced it as well. The service calls for the windshield having to be replaced once it is removed as it won’t reseal once it is removed from what I was told. Same goes for the rear window which is why they replaced it on mine. The reason they didn’t do windshield is because a replacement windshield was hard to come by and they found a rear window easier.
Plenty of people have had to have their windshield replaced due to cracks so I don’t see any reason why it would be an issue. From my understanding with that they usually have a windshield replacement company like safelite come in and do the install anyway.

They plan on reinstalling the same windshield. Does this sound right?

hopefully this isn't a repeat and I didn't see it on the listing for TSB/Recalls.

Dug into the system today and saw that there is a STAR case for the front leaks :
S1923000026 (5/21/2019) : Water Leak at A Pillar Onto Floor

Requires all other "items" to be checked first (aka the Pano Roof Drain Tubes / Windshield Seal)

Uses Kent Automotive Leak Check (Part Number P50087)
Masking Tape
Masking Paper
(last resort : Butyl 04076274AB or equiv)

They plan on. We’ll see how fun this goes.
I feel your pain! my Dealership farmed the rear window work out to a local ding bat who thought it was OK to remove the leaking window and reinstall it. Guess what happened????? It still leaked, they were all amazed. The best part is they swore they water tested it and it was fine. LOL. No where even close to fine. It's like a screen door. Waiting on a new glass assembly. Going to make them water test it in my presence before they reinstall the rear interior this time around. Good luck!
