Pedal Commander vs. Pulsar

If this is the same as what I have used in the past, swapping out tunes is far easier then swapping a PCM with less risk. Just MPO

Well then you can unis y'all and reinstall all you want. It takes me about 5 mins to do the swap. And if they do an update, when they get done guess what they lock the computer so you won't be able to put your tune back in it. I was was just telling you how I did it.

I use a Vitesse Throttle Controller.
I’ve used this brand on previous Gm and Mopar vehicles.
$175 as well. Saves cash for the same thing.
9 sport modes and 7 Eco modes.


I can’t comment for Pulsar, too many bad reviews that I’ve seen that keeps me from it. Albeit not an alarming amount but just enough.
I decided today that I HAVE to get something as I can't stand the lack of throttle response on this RAM (it might just get you killed on the Houston freeways...LOL). I'm curious about the Vitesse throttle controller. Looks like they have a pretty well-established product line. And the price is right. Assuming I rule out the Pulsar, is there any reason not to get the Vitesse over the Pedal Commander?

So after doing a bunch of research this weekend I opted for the PC. I'm not looking for more power than I've got; I just want better throttle response. I do like the integration of the Pulsar with the cruise control buttons and seeing it on the display, but having to pull out the ECU every time I get the vehicle serviced sounds like a hassle. I also saw more than a few reports that things like backup camera and radio were messed up and this was as recent as this month.

I also looked at the Vitesse which seemed like a pretty good deal but I don't want to have cables and old school LED's and knobs and stuff running around. I figure that I can mess with it, figure out which setting(s) I prefer, tuck the whole thing under the dash and use the app to make any changes if necessary.

Like I said, I'm not looking to go racing. My issue has to do with responsiveness and being uncomfortable when driving. I went from a car that had a much sharper throttle and reaction to my inputs....I'm not comfortable driving in traffic right now because it's harder to gauge when the thing is going to start moving. I also have a couple of sketchy places on my daily commute where pulling out requires you to go as soon as a gap opens. I know that the power is there, I just need to be moving when I tell it to move....not when it gets around to it.

Hopefully this does it. Like I said I know that I've got enough power on tap, I just need it to be there when I open it up.

I installed my PC about a week or so ago, it will do all that you ask and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Running Sport+ +4 makes the exact opposite problem you are experiencing in that I found it just too responsive and you could easily surge forward and run in the back of something! I started at sportiest setting and went down and settled on Sport+ 0 (or maybe 1, I forget), but when you get it installed I would recommend trying it on a medium setting and advancing from there until you find what suits you.

I, too, have found Sport +1 to be the perfect setting for me. Anything more is just a bit too touchy for my liking and as you stated I don't want to rear end someone.

Decided to go with the Pedal Commander. I installed it this morning. So far I've only tried the default City mode (I will try other modes when my wife is not riding with me). I love it so far. The pedal responsiveness is now where I would have expected it to be from the factory.

I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but is the factory DT pedal responsiveness worse (more sluggish) than the DS? Just curious. Stock is terrible.

I’m gonna try the Sprint Booster V3. These guys started this and I had one on my Hellcat prior to getting it custom tuned it was great. Pedal commander seems bulky too me I don’t want BT.

My DT is much more sluggish than my DS was. I put a Pedal Commander on and so far I am glad I did. From what I’ve read, they don’t give much trouble as long as you don’t adjust while accelerating. I only adjust mine while stopped and so far I haven’t had any trouble. Somebody above said it’s bulky. I don’t know what they are talking about as mine is tiny. I tuck it into the side compartment of the console

The PC is bulky??? Thing is tiny and easily hidden.
Maybe the OP meant its bulky in terms of having extra functions - the Bluetooth feature he didn't desire - rather than the physical size of it. I'm not sure that without Bluetooth it would be any cheaper and having BT doesn't make it overly complex or unreliable.

I'm still really pleased with mine.
