Also if your truck has the adaptive cruise control and the lane departure warning you already have the module-foward facing camera. And I saw that these vehicles have a security gateway module Which prevents aftermarket programing so I'm going to buy the bypass for that module and see if the dealership will be able to program the truck once that module is bypassed.

I returned the module-forward facing camera. I do have adaptive cruise already.

I had no idea these parts existed I purchased all new harnesses for the truck and stripped it completely to change them
I’m hoping I don’t have to go this extreme to put in wires I need. If I have to buy the wire harnesses I will. I will just take apart the wire harnesses and do an overlay. If it gets to be to much I will just trade in and find a new truck with all the options.

Yeah I got it plugged together when I changed out the body harness and the headlight to dash harness. You do need a new tailgate handle because the original handle that comes with the truck is for the park view camera and the new handle is for the surround view Camera. you will also need the camera for the handle.
Do you happen to have the part number for camera? I have the new handle with no camera.

You definitely deserve a prize for being the most determined person on the site. Cannot imagine anyone else is going to be willing to go to those lengths. Awesome that you could take it on though. I tip my hat to you sir!

Hey guys one of the members myram2019 actually put me in touch with a guy who can build a program to activate the cameras in the truck. I reached out to the gentleman and he informed me that he is able to build the program he's just unsure of how long it will take. To install the program you will need a Tazerdt and a windows PC. I will have an update once he reaches out to me that the program is completed.

Hi the guy informed me that he's supposed to get a truck next month with the features to see how it works. Once he has it he will build the program and let us know.

Have not done anything lately. It looks like it’s a waiting game. Until something comes out.
I’m thinking about just calling it a fail. I’m looking around for a truck with all the options and will trade it in.

I feel your pain.
I don't think trading in is a good option, unless one has or is planning to win the PowerBall!
For the heck of it I did run used car values on NADA, KBB, Carfax, etc.
my truck with only 2200 miles on it was listed between $42 - $44K. That is a 10 grand depreciation in 3 months.
mine with options and addons was $62K, with discounts I paid $52K (excluding tax, license, etc.)
So, wait a little longer and there maybe options for adding the stuff.

I purchased a 2019 limited but it came with a tow package and I’m looking into swapping the parts to add the regular mirrors with the cameras and the front camera. Does anyone know if this will work? Or has anyone attempted this?
Sorry to hear that, There is little to ZERO chance this can be done. The wire harness, modules, hardware, programming is not going to be cost effective. I have heard the dealers don't even want the trucks with tow mirrors because everyone wants the surround view. Hard to sell them. I hope I am wrong for your sake. Good luck

Do what most of us did and just enjoy the tow mirrors. I just learned to live with them and I have since learned to love them. Just wish they folded automatically.

I can't let this thread die!
After a lot of research in the past couple of months, for now I have given up on adding the Safety features such as lane departure, adaptive cruise control etc. Only one major part (DASM) but many damn cables.
addition of 360 camera requires many cables too.
However, I think adding a front camera should be possible. need the grill insert with the front camera, cables (they sell stand alone cables so no need for changing harness) -- buying the image processing module, attach front and rear camera to the module and then attach the module to the back of screen.
of course still need the dealer to turn the feature on!

FCA at a minimum needs to make the kit for adding a front camera.
There are couple of aftermarket companies that produce 360 cameras, but none for the new Ram.
I installed a 360 camera package on my CanAm Maverick Max. It is awesome going through tight trails. It can be done on the Ram however, it cannot be integrated in to the screen.
