Best CAI

Did anyone come up with a group buy plan for the S&B setup?

So, the bottom line on CAI seems to be this...if you like the sound and the butt dyno appeal, then get it. If those things aren't important to you, don't worry about it because the gains we are all looking for aren't going to be there. The ONLY time I've had a CAI make a noticeable difference was when I put a K&N on my 2003 Cobra...the other ones I bought were for the NA autos I've had and they've just produced noise with little or no gains. Even the one I installed in my 2003 IS300 with the piggyback ECU was nearly pointless, but I liked the sound and I felt like there was a tiny gain in throttle response. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Totally agree with you @tincup33. I have had my share of these as well. K&N, Airaid, etc. on prior vehicles over the years. No one will truly experience any gain in performance but they will hear it based on model of intake and type of housing and filter. Some like the under the hood looks of it...others like the noise they make but you won't feel any increase in performance nor will you see any additional mpg benefits. With that being said, I am still interested to see if they'll do a group by and get this down to $250 or less with free shipping. Gotta spend that $250 BonusDrive check coming in the mail soon ;)

So it flows 37% more then stock with plug closed. Does and will the engine need the extra air ? If you want 50% more air then you have to remove secondary plug, To me it then looks like its gonna pull hot engine air thru there and then its not a real CAI. It also attaches to the same inlet from the grill side. If thats not getting larger then how can you get more air thru the same intake pipe?

I think the best intake system is the OEM setup
No understood hit air and a good balance of flow vs restriction in the OEM air filter. Only less filtration will result in increased flow and no one would really want that.

Here's the one I got

They got back to me. They don’t do group buys.
Well that stinks. Is it still the best choice or do we buy a different type because we're upset about no group buys?

If you sign up at aFe with your email address they will send a code for 10% off. I got mine for 307.00

Wow that aFe adds 24+ HP. Is there a mini NOS bottle inside that filter. LOL

I installed the AFE on Saturday. Sounds way better when you get on the throttle. I dont see a noticeable difference in HP - maybe a slight increase.

Hoping for a slight increase in MPG and increase in sound were my main reasons on buying it

You all just keep finding ways to spend my money............
Same. This forum is making me empty my wallet. My buddy is installing a K&N CAI to his Rebel. I think I’m just going to replace the OEM air filter with the K&N filter and be content.
