Hey everybody,

Just wanted to let you know that we're still looking into this. Some orders were processed with no problems, but it looks like there's an issue in our system with allocating parts that are shared between this kit and other kits. We should be able to get most of your orders shipped out this week, but I'll keep you all updated as I learn more from our warehouse and order teams.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. I'll be back in the office around 8:30 EST tomorrow morning.

Thanks,
-Steve

@Mishimoto Can you tell us the order time of the orders that "might" not make the cut and not be able to make delivery this week. I am sure you will know where that cutoff point is so that the customer can then make an informed decision. Thank you for following up and communicating.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! @Mishimoto

So this is EXACTLY what we were all talking about yesterday, and "Steve" from Mishimoto said, ON HERE that they would certainly be able to process the orders if we ordered today. Many of us have specifically asked about that since some people were getting the "Out of Stock until June 30" email yesterday. Steve said he checked on it and we would be good. I personally asked before I ordered. I even asked him to inquire at what time would the last order that would meet the stock be, and from that point on, they would no longer have the inventory. As you can see, he never replied.

Well . . . . I just go my OUT OF STOCK UNTIL JUNE 30th email about an hour ago. Now I am starting to agree with those who called BS. How can they be sold out already on a Pre-Sale item. Pre-Sale now means NO SALE.

So I guess it's safe to say Don't Bother Purchasing because you will not get one for at least 3 months. I think I am going to cancel my order now. . .

@Cmerkert that out of stock email is an automated email and is not accurate - we're still working on why it's being sent out and getting an accurate ETA for orders. I talked with our warehouse team this morning and we have processed 31 of the orders for this product. The issue at this time is that we had a significantly larger number of orders than expected for this product and there was some miscommunication on how to allocate components that are shared with other products (the catch can itself, specifically).

We're making sure these pre-sale orders are processed at the highest priority but I may not have a completely clear picture until later today. If you send me your order number I can check on its actual status and let you know.

Thanks,
-Steve

Just chill folks...when I got my email with a June date...I just picked up the phone and called. Was told exactly what Steve is saying above. No need to cancel...we'll all get our cans shortly as was originally promised. No need to get pissy with these guys...just chill out!

Hey everybody,

We are still working on getting everything squared away for orders placed yesterday and before. Your pre-sale orders are our highest priority and we're allocating every resource we have to getting them out the door ASAP.

We do have some orders that have issues with addresses. If this is the case for your order, you should have received an email to contact us. Having an issue with the order address does hold your order until the issue is resolved, so please contact us ASAP to avoid losing your place in line. If you're unsure if your order has an issue, please PM me and I will check it for you. I can't resolve the issue, but I can let you know if there is one. Again, you should have received an email if this is the case.

The pre-sale pricing is still available on the website, however, for anybody who hasn't ordered, please be aware we are now sold out of this kit - we don't have an ETA for orders placed after yesterday (@Cmerkert I'm not sure what time you ordered, but you are not included in this situation). If you'd like, feel free to PM me and I will get you an updated ETA when I have one.

Thanks to everybody for being patient, I'll keep you updated.
-Steve

I just checked my e-mail and found a notice from Mishimoto that my order for the catch can kit is shipping along with the UPS tracking number. I ordered the kit several days after the pre sale was announced. I also got the order delay notice before this latest notice. Looks like things are starting to ship,
Thanks Steve

Hey everybody,

As some of you have seen, we are starting to ship these. We do still have some orders that need address updates though, so please contact us ASAP (@Granite5thgen I think yours may be one of those orders)!

Because you guys were so awesome and ordered way more of these than we expected, we had to do a lot of manual entry in our ordering system to move components around, which is why it took a while from order approval (when you all go the back order emails) to order shipment. More orders should be shipping out over the next few days, so keep an eye out on your emails. With the exception of the orders that have address issues, they will be processing and shipping in the order that they were placed. 99% of orders should be shipped out by the end of the week or early next week.

I'll be checking in with our warehouse and order processing teams tomorrow morning to see where we're at and will keep you all updated. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and I'll get back to you bright and early tomorrow AM.

Thanks,
-Steve

Hey @danielle2019,

I'm slightly biased, but we have a pretty good article on blow-by and catch cans that you can read here: Blow-By 101

In short, all internal combustion engines produce what is known as blow-by. Blow-by is a combination of crankcase gasses, oil vapor from the crankcase and cylinders, fuel, and other natural by-products of combustion (like water). These vapors and gasses make their way into the engine's crankcase during normal engine operation, but in order to keep the crankcase from becoming over-pressurized, they need to be vented. In the past, this venting was done by simply connecting a hose (known as a draft tube) to the crankcase and venting the blow-by under the car. As emissions and environmental concerns became more widely recognized, that venting system evolved. Now, manufacturers usually vent blow-by back into the vehicle's intake to be re-burned in the next combustion cycle. That system for venting the blow-by and reburning it is know as the crankcase ventilation (CCV) or positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system.

While modern CCV systems make for cleaner engine operation, that routing of the blow-by into the intake can cause some issues. For direct-injected vehicles, the lack of fuel washing over intake valves can cause carbon buildup on the valves and lead to very poor performance. In the case of port-injected vehicles (like your Ram), the effects of blow-by are less acute, but can still be detrimental to performance. For one, the oil and fuel vapors build up in the intake system and can eventually cause issues with any sensors in the intake. These sensors often control fueling and when they become dirty, performance and efficiency suffer. The more constant effect of blow-by in a port-injected engine is the lowering of your fuel's effective octane (or its resistance to knock). In newer engines, the amount of blow-by entering the cylinder is not usually enough to worry about knock, but as the engine wears, the rings allow more oil and fuel into the crankcase and the potential for knock goes up.

The job of a catch can like this is to intercept the oil, fuel, water, and other contaminates in blow-by and filter them out. The vapors condense in the can and the intake receives only fresh air. Many of the effects of blow-by buildup take time to become noticeable, but we think prevention is always better than treatment, which is why we offer this kit.

Hopefully that answered your question and didn't bore you to death  Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks,
-Steve

Well, here's the update. I just got an email stating that my order will be shipping with a tracking number. So as I mentioned, in all fairness, Steve was able to work it out and they were able to get it shipped. Thank you Steve @Mishimoto

Hi Steve! That was a very concise explanation, thanks so much! One further question though, how does one properly dispose of the collected waste when its time? Will a dealership or garage with the proper disposal containers accept it?

@danielle2019 ...any shop that takes used oil will happily take it. I highly recommend Mishimoto products...the design and quality is second to none...this is my third product from them.

Advance Aoto Parts takes waste oil and there may be other parts stores that do also.

Hey everybody,

We are still finishing up processing of orders (still have some customers who need to contact us back about addresses too ;)), but most of you should have received shipping emails for your catch cans and drain kits if you purchased those as well.

Thank you all for your orders and patience with the confusing emails and shipping! At this time I'm going to officially end the pre-sale and hand off this product to our very competent customer service team. They've been filled in on everything and should be able to help with anything you need. Their email address will be tied to this forum, so if you PM or tag us, they should respond shortly. For the fastest response, you can always call our customer service team at 1-877-466-4744 or +1-302-762-4501 (international).

Thanks again,
-Steve
