I may have a new record for length at the dealership. Five weeks so far and not supposed to get it back for two more weeks. They said it was a body seam issue but cannot test the fix because the windshield is on back order. 2019 lone star 4x4

Just for ****s and giggles I tried the park sense. As expected, it did nothing. I appreciate the effort and trying to move forward towards the resolution, but lets try a little thinking when troubleshooting. Turning ParkSense off changes nothing mechanically, it only electronically tells the truck not sense and report. We know the noise is coming from the AC door area in the dash. Hence when a mechanical change (recirc) is triggered, the noise is affected.
I think we ave a different tea kettle noise. Mine is definately not coming from the vents. I have a video of my noise if you want to see it.

Please escalate the case. I have tried and so far FCA does not seem to care about the five weeks without a new truck.

Wind noise FIXED!!!!!

If your experiencing a "tea kettle" type of whistle that usually starts around that 40 to 45 mph and doesn't go away. It usually changes with the recirc button, but doesn't really go away. The sound seems to be coming from the dash windshield area.

Before we found the actual problem here's the things we tried with no success: Replaced windshield, Replaced recirc actuator & door, Replaced Cowl vent panel, Tried caulking & sealing around windshield.

If this sounds like your truck it sounds crazy, but try this:
Inside the cowl panel on the drivers side, there is a seam where the two layers of metal meet. We trimmed off the "spray foam" around the plastic plug and used seam sealer to re-caulk the seam and around the plastic plug. Once it dried, we put the cowl vent panel back on, went for a drive, and NO NOISE!!!!

Hope this helps at least one person out there struggling with the same annoying wind noise that has been driving us nuts for months!

Here's some pics:

I asked my doctor about this wind noise problem in the Ram, too.

He asked if i still smoked. I said yes.

He told me to cut out the smoking.

Bwahahahaha! I don’t think people appreciated just how funny that joke was! Nice man.

I have a 2019 1500 limited, and have a horrible noise as well. I would describe it as a howl, and only happens at highway speeds on a windy day. My fear of taking it to the shop without diagnosing it is on a calm day, they are going to have to go pretty fast to try to replicate it (90ish), but on windy days it happens at lower speeds (60-70). I don't see them being willing to drive it that fast
Hopefully the yt link below works and you can hear the howling/whistling. Anyone else's sound like that?
I am having the exact same issue when driving around 70 to 80mph. I went to the dealer and they were saying they want to replace the door seal. I do not think that will fix it, nor do I want them to replace a perfectly fine door seal and potentially cause other issues. I am wondering has there been any resolution to this issue?

I'm having same issue, road or wind-noise starting around 40 mph on passenger size. Annoying because the window /seals right next to my head on driver side is so-quiet. Sucks to have the distraction of more noise on the far side of the cab ( left to right). Could be me, but it seems like noise gets louder as radio volume increases. BTW , mine has the cab to box seal . Its going in Friday , my rear wall molded carpet surround was kink/twisted under the seat from the factory. dealer ordered the part and sound deadening. I don't have much hope as it sounds more from the front door B-pillar area. I think the front door and rear door or b-pillar is being pressurized. Or the noise cancellation doesn't work all that well ..Dealer already adjusted the horrible fitting door gaps ( leading edge of the rear doors were out further than the front doors catching road salt /dirt. not sure if the adjustment made it worse. I can hear a slight change in background noise when recirc is closed, but its still present on the passenger side.

The 2019 rental ram i had for 3 weeks , that helped me switch from GM was so much quieter. Wish i scrutinized the noises more in this trucks test drive , i would have passed on this truck. It was garbage winter weather both days.. I hope FCA figures something out this is the only complaint i have with the truck.. I noticed on my buddies 2018 ram they have a few more seals between the doors and body gaps and the gap between the doors.

Have the exact same issue... from the front passenger side side... almost as if sound roof is cracked but it’s not.

PLEAES NOTE MY POST ON Sept 11, 2019 #427
I had the same exact "howl" noise.
The cause was a very small air leak inside the cowl panel plenum.
The fix is to Seam seal it and noise was GONE!!!!!
(I posted pics too)

Checked that at the dealer. Mine is definitely something with the windshield. Drove it and had a noise taped the bottom of the windshield and no noise. Third windshield and fourth installation and second installation company. Dunno

Anybody had this issue or had it fixed, there is a noticeable wind noise starts at 40 miles and keep increasing with speed on the driver side !
I have brought in my 2019 Limited 4 times with wind noise from the panoramic sun roof & now they just ordered some kind of gasket to see if that works.
is your noise coming from your sunroof? if so, how did they fix it?

Just got my vehicle back from the dealer on Friday. They can hear the windnoise from the passenger side A Post area, but don't know what to do to fix it. The tech also used an app on his iPhone and claimed the noise wasn't above the threshold limit.

JCC, where exactly was the air leak in the plenum. Do you think adding some additional sealer in this area would help without removing the factory foam sealer?

Anyone know how to export this thread so I can PDF it and use it as evidence in my Lemon Law case?

Haha. That's funny, none of those apps are ever accurate because they just have a general calibration for the phone. Provided they generated a calibration for that phone.

My FCA Case Manager did call and wanted to get my input. I told the FCA Case Manager that I didn't consider the issue resolved and she agreed. I'm still not sure how FCA and the dealership will proceed but I guess we will see.

Hi Tiger B,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this concern. If you haven't done so already, we recommend having this diagnosed by your local Ram dealer as they are in the best position to assist. Our team is just a private message away if you would like any additional assistance during that process.
