Why does radio power button turn off display?

My post didn't disappear. And I'm here to learn how my truck works. Not going to apologize for posting questions.

Someone mentioned there is a separate mute button. It's not mention in the manual but I'll go look for it when my wife gets back with the truck.
Yep, mute button right under volume dial and screen off button on other side.

No apologies necessary. This forum is for sharing ideas and fast tracking learning.

Is the mute button the only way to turn off the radio? I can't figure out how to turn off just the radio and still have the rest of the display on.

I used the power button (night time) so I could try to identify a rattle.
Turned power back on and now I have no sound.......
Have the 12" screen
any ideas??

Give a bit more detail, please.

I was driving at night (dark outside and inside)
I heard rattling inside the truck when I would drive over bumps.
Wanted to figure out where the noise was coming from.

(I know I should've turned the volume down but I pushed the on/off instead.
A little bit down the road, I pushed the button again to turn back on.
"NO sound"
After driving in garage, I tried again. Tried changing the media to FM, AM, etc.....Still nothing.
Turned off truck. Waited a minute. Turned on ACC, still no sound
