What is your oil pressure at idle?

Hi, I have a 22 rebel with a 5.7 etorque, got about 50,000 miles on it. Last week I decided to try something different and I went to take five oil change and today I noticed at idle I saw oil pressure as low as 26 psi I guess I’ve never paid attention before idol and I’m a little nervous about switching oil shops, anybody else know what they see for oil pressure idling at about 500 rpm. Thanks IMG_1899.jpeg

About 32 to 35 psi IIRC. Pennzoil 5W20 full synthetic. FRAM XG10060 filter.

Wellz your first mistake was going to a cheap *** oil change place that only cares about using the cheapest oils and filters, and getting as many cars through the doors as possible.

I'd be willing to bet if you changed your oil filter to a Mopar filter your pressure would be higher

I would verify the oil level as soon as possible, maybe the shop underfilled your oil level. I do not know my idle psi but my truck with a non-E torque 5.7 hemi at highway speeds (approx 65-72 mph) is usually 49 psi per the gauge cluster and I use 5w20 Penz oil Potentially Ultimate from the dealer, not sure what filter, I suspect it is a Mopar filter being done at the dealer. Due to medical issues not able to crawl up under the truck to do the work myself. :(

I'm at about 40 on a hot idle. I haven't seen 20's since I started doing my own oil changes, but I used to see high 20's for the first 5000 kms IIRC, dealer oil/filter, somewhere around 28 or 29?

Mine normal warm is 25-30 ish. Hot hot like after trailer towing in stop and go or towing highway high speed (oil temp 230-240) is 20-23 psi range. Mopar filter and Platinum 5-20. Cruising at the same temps at highway speed 47-49 psi. Just about to tick over 70k miles and pressures have been the same since new with the same oil and filters.

27psi Hot, 500 rpm, 0-20 synthetic , filter ?, Cold start was 53 I think. Even hot at idle If I raise the idle to 1000 it jumps right up. I think you are fine. 8000 miles.
