Payload is often the limiting factor in towing. For a 10,000 pound trailer the tongue weight needs to be between 1000 and 1500 lbs. Add a couple of adults, some kids, and some luggage and that is a problem.

My dealer was sure the payload can be searched by VIN. For a Limited 4x4 with 5-7 conventional bed, 20" tires, non-eTorque Hemi, and panoramic sunroof the computer said 1840 lbs. However, the door jam sticker had a different story: 1398 lbs.

No we went to a truck closer to my spec: Limited 5-7 4x4, RamBox, Tonneau cover (and the factory softcover is relatively light), eTorque Hemi, panoramic sunroof. It didn't have the multifunction tailgate which we want but did have 22" wheels which we didn't. The computer said 1780 lbs.; the sticker said 1268 lbs.

Does anyone have a lower payload?

How did it get so low? The 33 gallon take added 60 lbs. of fuel. The ORG added 20 lbs in tires and maybe 35-50lb in skid plates. That could be 130 lb. of the difference. And still leaves 25 lost pounds unaccounted for.

1111 lbs. We are getting into passenger car territory here. This is a Camry:

Sticker Payload Capacity: 1,447 lbs

Nerf Steps - 70.15 lbs

MudFlaps - 6.5 lbs

Tri-Fold Cover - 59.9 lbs

True Payload Capacity: 1,310 lbs

Naively thought I would get 1,840 lbs (per the order). You would think their computer system is sophisticated enough to compute payload (or at least an estimate/range) for your truck prior to ordering.

Go look at the tire and loading sticker thread - someone figured out the weight of almost every option.

At least until that $72K Longhorn with everything I’ve got PLUS the multi-function tailgate shows up here...

33gal tank and added fuel is 73lbs more than the 26gal, more than 73 if the vehicle would have been equipped with the 23 gal tank as standard.

ORG is 119lbs. Full size spare tire, 1”lift, heavier shocks, heavier tires and skid plates.

Mine is 1190. Limited 4x4 long bed with skid plates, 22" wheels, e torque. Curious how much the skid plates add as well as the long bed.

From another forum, the same problem. Note that the starting point is 250lb higher so it leaves them higher.

I test drove a 2019 F150 Lariat 4X4 with a max tow package today and was disappointed to see that the payload capacity listed on the yellow sticker inside the door was only 16668 lbs. When I expressed disappointment that the payload capacity was less than we needed to tow a 25 foot Airstream the salesman told me that the yellow sticker just listed to payload capacity of the cab and showed me a brochure listing a payload capacity of 2030 lbs. Am I being lied to?

Question: Do all of the trucks under 1200 lb payload have RamBoxes and sunroofs?
