What did you do to your Ram today???

out with the old, in with the new.
ignore the burnt 30A fuse lol that was when I was trying to run Victron DC-DC charger through that port 2 or 3 years ago, not the issue for this week's problem.

After inspection, I suspect the positive terminal stud had some minor cracks in it so the power draw is not consistent, which creates heat. Because I oversized the wire gauge from this panel to the breaker, heat conducted itself to the breaker, built up there, and tripped the thermal breaker. This would also explain why my icom would read low voltage at unit start up and shut off when I try to transmit with the truck off.

Replaced unit, and iCom's voltage reads 0.1V less than battery's voltage readout using multimeter. Tried to transmit with truck off, radio didn't shut off. Drove for an hour with both iCom and Victron on and functioning, and no more tripped breaker.

Problem solved. Now I just gotta finish the route for next week in case we actually do it.

Thanks for reading my yapping and Merry Christmas!

oh and this happened... I guess God's telling me something with that big, bright orange sign on Christmas Eve huh.

Btw, what gauge wire did you run?

For Christmas wife got me a new FitCamX and I just installed it. Super simple.
Complinents I'm interested for fitcam X but I've some difficults to understand the correc version for my truck. Perhaps have you a 2025 Rebel ? Thank's.

just go here and look for one that looks like yours

by the way when I did mine fitcam had me send a picture to make sure I got the correct one.

First oil change at 1100 miles on my 2026 Lonestar Hurricane. Took advantage of $130 for two oil changes at the dealer. Thought I had to pay extra since the deal covers up to 6 quarts and my engine takes 7.5 quarts, but the SA told me all good.

HeLp I apparently was suppose to mark them? This shouldn't be an issue but I seem to have a serious mental block...
I've done thousands of these in my life but the one on a RAM 1500 is destroying my self confidence 😵‍💫

Jumped it haha.

But like, no, I didn’t take it off any sweet jumps, 😂😂 Battery problems again this yr. Seemed too soon at 3 yrs, but with all the tech maybe not too soon for 4 yrs.

Puzzling thing to me with an eTorque is like why when the reg battery has issues does it act like any other truck? Like 2wice now, the truck has not restarted in a stop/start sitch, and I thought the eTorque battery took over for that nonsense. So once I put it back in N, got the damn e-brake off, and restarted manually, there’s battery lights on and the meter is at like 7-8 volts.

I know we never hear from the eTorque battery on the dash, so just curious if I should have that one checked as well?

Probably wouldn’t hurt to get it checked out. I wonder how much of it could be the MGU vs the ETorque battery itself? I personally turn AS/S off every single time I get in the truck so naturally have not ran into such an issue. So far only replaced my 12v battery once.

Haha funny. In other cars I always turn it off. But the eTorque one doesn’t bother me. Tbh I hardly notice it. And it has only done this 3x ever. Once last year in the bitter cold when I wasn’t driving it as much. And again this year in the cold. (Was like 14 last night or something.)

I have the 12v on a trickle rn and she’s acting right again but yeah, I’ll probly take it to my shop and get an opinion on the 12v.

Thx!

Have you had the truck plugged in to see if there is an update available for this? At one point there was a Hybrid Control Processor update available for that exact issue.

Strapped 4 steel wheels from a tradesman to a Harbor Freight hitch-mounted cargo carrier and drove across MI. I had straps running from front bed tie downs, over tailgate, and to the back of rack to give it some bonus stability/support and to keep it from flopping around. It rode great!

Today I was replacing the level for the liquid for window washer and I saw that case (open) made in aluminum and I asked myself: "Does anyone know what it is for and what it is?"

Looks like a heat shield to block heat from the manifolds

3 years is about when i change my batteries.
test your starter battery, see if it's still good?
