What did you do to your Ram today???

pulled overtime at home after work today:

Started at 8PM and took my sweet time doing this because my housemate keep on coming over and chat so i told him to take pictures until he had enough:

This is the part where the braided compressor extension hose touched the AC line (part 1):

And this is the part where the brass fitting was touching the rubber hose (aka, part 2):

Strangely, I did not see any green AC oil residue at both of those spots. But I found residue here:

At this point, I don't even know where the damage is lol
But the whole job, from start to finish including rerouting the braided hose extension, rinsing the engine bay to wash away the residues (and some dirt), and putting away all the tools to bring back to the shop, and chatting with the housemate, took about 1.5 hours.

Tomorrow going to bring the truck to the shop next to ours to get the R1234YF charged.

Unless there was dye added at some point, you shouldn't see green. And they usually don't ads dye from the factory.

Just picked it up from getting PPF, they did a nice job

Nice list. I'd hope mine is smaller, but...... :ROFLMAO:

Updated set of pictures. Last work done for a few months...

Additions to truck:
Running boards
Spray in bedliner (glistens in the sun hard to see in pics)
All around ceramic Nano blah blah tint and front window UV tint protected as well.

Not pictred.

Rough Country storage bin under back seat.
New red (couldn't resist) adjustable hitch.
Rachet Straps

My wife giving me a hard time about spending on the new truck. lol.

How much was all that?

Great question. I don’t know the total. Things were added over time, so the prices have changed. I should have kept track This truck will eventually go to my son, so it’s all a sunk cost.
BS sunk cost... satisfaction and desire to own matter a whole heck of a lot.

If that wern't the case we would all be driving 15 year old beaters where everything worked.

Vehicles need to be:
Reliable
Able to perform the task for which they were purchased.

EVERYTHING else is convenience/safety/Ownership satisfaction.

Sure we could all get by watching TV, having flip phones that can only make calls and such. But we are most all reliant/dependent on the nice things that come with higher end goods. Not many here buy a no feature work truck and just drive that for 10 years with nothing changing. That was the actual boomers. ;)

But, did you do it in a spreadsheet with the cost of each line in there, and a Total at the bottom? :D

I've done that before. The Total always makes me unhappy. So, I don't do that anymore. LOL!

That’s a great reason to not look at the total! Also, it’s hard to put a price on the fun of making the mods. We all get to make out trucks how “we” like them.

hmm interesting because when i pulled the AC hose green oil came out. mine's a 2022 though so could be different?

and that's the important thing
yeah i was going to grab one from the shop since it's been 3 years already (on previous vehicles I own without solar panels I usually replace battery every 3 years regardless of the condition)
but since the test result is good then i said F it i bought a Noco for a reason LOL

you're fine. it's not that bad. I tried to influence the forum to drop big money but seems like yall got some really good self-control

wait till you do a full breakdown graphic like mine, then look at the big price differences from back in the days when you got them vs now.
you'll appreciate you bought your stuff early.

External Lighting.jpgArmors.jpgElectrical.jpgEquipment.jpgSuspension.jpgWheels and Tires.jpg

that's why I tell everyone: buy it NOW before price goes up. I probably saved at least 10% (in addition to the wholesale/ distributor discounts) between ordering parts BEFORE the truck was built in 2022 vs ordering them now.
