Maybe this is a known issue, but I'm glad I checked. I was going to replace it anyway for my winter trip so I'd have matching tires all the way around.
I'm shocked that so much rubber was removed and I would also like to know how to prevent it from happening again
I could see this ruining someone's day or entire trip
that's normal.
that's when the tire contacts the "tabs" that prevent the tire from going up too much when you crank up the spare holder.

also I need your contact info so you can clean my spare too LOL that's one outstanding job.

That's not rub er that has been removed, just an indent from where it was pulled up against the supports.

It took some work and a pressure washer...

I think. On my last two vehicles, I cut a pice of plywood that would sandwich between the tire and frame. That took care of it.....I. need to look at my Ram now as I don't recall if I've done it on this one yet.

i need to get mine PDR'd then lol
mine's on the front passenger side door.. right under the A of RAM.

The tech told me they charge by how difficult it is to get to and add more to the price if the dents are on any of the body lines. Other than that it's pretty standard, push out the dent so that it becomes a small lump, and then just tap it back down to shape.

Let's play is it me or is it RAM?
I noticed last night one particular spot of water still dripping while everything was still dry.
I reached under felt wet and muddy and was able to retrieve some.
I decided to remove mud flap and I was glad I did.
Was it installed correctly? Sure seems like it needs holes for better draining

Added a 2nd Key fob: When I purchase my 2024 truck used last year, it only came with one. Purchased from E-Bay.... programmed fine by a local shop.$150+ $50 for the fob included cutting the key. No more worries about loosing the original fob!

When I was looking for mud guards, I looked at a YouTube video showing that about the Ram mud guards
I guess I can blame RAM for that then. They have to stay for the time being as I can't star another project with all I have to do.
Researching mud guards for a week and then braking it down to pros and cons followed another week of price shopping.
I can't add that on to everything else that's months behind

Went ahead and did the front and rear dif fluid today. Both looked very good, as expected for a 30k change. I have a little brush scraper tool I use to adgitate the crap in the bottom of the rear dif and I flushed a quart through it to get nice new clean fluid. Still, not bad at all for 30k.

Still waiting on the fluid for the transfer case.

So do I!

All of these types of flaps are garbage. They rub the paint off and they collect crap. The plastic material eventually deterioriates as well and they are not pliable, so if you rub on something, there goes your flap. Do yourself a favor and buy some good rubber mudflaps, like Gatorback, if you plan on keeping the truck. Not cheap, but when it comes to this product, it's a buy once cry once deal.
