What did you do to your Ram today???

Incase anyone was curious

The top strut mount plate bolt is an M10-1.5 and THEYRE FRIGGAN IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND JUST THE GOT DANG BOLT.

Super excited about two day shipping a whole new upper plate cause i applied one too many ogga duggas to putting the strut back in.

Hey, at least it's not a manifold bolt or a spark plug!

Took mine finally to get the ABS recall done.

While at the dealer they did a multi-point inspection and brought up 6 things for service

•air filter /engine bay-(HAVE A NEW ONE IN MY GARAGE)

•cabin air filter (ALSO SITTING IN GARAGE)

•brake fluid flush- truck has 110k and fluid is brown right now. Has anyone done a flush themselves and have pointers for a diy’er?

•4x4 service/ fluids for front and rear differentials and transfer case- (I DID THIS AROUND 80k-90k MILES) my question, is there a way to track all your service done by yourself that will pull up on dealers database? I’ve been using KBB to track the service I’ve been doing and it’s advertised to show up on these reports but it obviously does not. Any suggestions?

•rear brakes/rotors - ( I PLANNED ON DOING ALL 4 CORNERS AFTER WINTER AND GOING WITH A POWERTOP Z36 PAD AND ON THE FENCE ON GETTING SLOTTED ROTORS).

•fuel system service- this is the dealers notation for this type of work: scam or what are they actually performing?

Due every 15k miles - This service will clean fuel lines and maximize fuel flow, improving vehicle miles per gallon and reducing vehicle emissions coming from exhaust

$76 for cabin air filter and $76 for engine air filter....geesh
I bought a really good quality carbon infused cabin air filter, looks kinda like a k&n for $15 and 10 minute install. Also a AEM dry flow(k&n owns aem) engine air filter for $40 and 15 minute install, just some screws to remove. When I bought my truck 2 months ago, had under 40k miles and previous owner already had a brake flush done and new spark plugs. I found that odd with under 40k, the spark plugs should last up to 100k. Even the old type plugs in my 13 lasted longer than 30k.

I have base audio, already added kenwood component set up front and jbl 3 ways in back. Wired up a kicker key amp with a anc ch01 harness today. I did auto eq once, but sounds really good now. Was basically 30 minutes in house wiring everything, 2 seconds to plug in and done, I used the hot anc wire and ground wire(both are in the anc ch01 harness). Now just need to mount the amp where anc amp is. Sounds better than my Alpine system in my 13 Ram, base is really good for having no sub. Now trying to decide if I really need a sub in future.

How hard would it to get this working or is just much? They want $300

i think just getting it to work is not hard but getting it to do the gear shifting instead of just limiting gears is more involving. i think just a harness extension will do.

i dont think there's any way to add what you've done to the dealer database. most people just use an excel spreadsheet and receipt folder to track lol aka the good ol' fashioned way.
the brake fluid is easy if you have a fluid extraction pump (we do at the shop) then just suck it out lol
the fuel system clean is... interesting. if you run good quality gas then you should be ok. fuel filter is there for a reason lol if your fuel line needs to be cleaned internally then i'd be worried about the fuel filter as well. i'd say just run some fuel ssytem cleaner in your fuel and that should do if you really are worried about it. else i'd just leave it be.

Where the heck were you hours ago…Ive been angry drinking and aure could hav e used this perspective 🤦‍♂️

Careful. Returns on RockAuto can be a PITA!

I'm assuming you are parked until it gets in? Dealership didn't have anything (not surprising)? Man that sucks.

I'm waiting on a bolt for the seat in my families 2500 for doing the same damn thing and nobody had a replacement near me, not even the hardware shops had the correct size and same thread. Why tf they couldn't just cover the bolts with literally anything, even a rubber piece that go from the seat to the frame is beyond me, so I'll use some anti-seize and coat em good in case the damn seat fails again and I need to get under the seat to look around. Which reminds me to put some on mine in the hopes of preventing this mess, even though my memory seats effing suck and I gave up using them.

Basically, stood at the door and watched the hail dimple the hood and roof.... pounded it for over an hour!
Insurance claim placed... two appointments scheduled for repair estimate on Friday.
The car is definitely worse than the truck.

I would have sacrificed my own body and strapped inflatable mattress all around that mfer.

Sorry man. Good luck with the insurance, hope they come through.

Fortunately we have a beater after the fiasco of the truck being in the body shop for a prolonged time last year, and its motorcycle season finally.

But im just as annoyed that the bolt is able to be removed from the upper strut mount plate…but apparently they don’t exist separate from the plate for replacement. The parts department was closed at my dealer by the time i ogga’d it off. So hopefully they have one, but im not holding my breath.

Hi everyone!

I haven’t been on in a long time, but I recently traded in my big horn for a 22’ limited night edition.

So far I’ve added the Tazer dt and bed cover.
Honestly the truck is loaded so there’s not much to add.

I felt the same when I got my Limited. I’ve only added some creature comforts that I wanted. Not much needed to be improved upon. In my old mind anyways.

I’m not very excel sheet savvy 😂

But I do have all receipts for my work and fluids etc I’ve done and notate mileage on the receipts.

I think I’m going to buy this and see how well it works .

You need a Hail Protector. I used one on my 2006 Ram 2500 when I lived somewhere that didn’t have a garage for it. It worked really well. After getting some practice setting it up a couple of times, you can get it on pretty fast.

Yea they will get you good if you have no knowledge of wrenching :ROFLMAO:

basically all maintenance, they suggested i did and told the advisor or tech (desk guy). he looked back at me suspiciously but whatever :sneaky::rolleyes:

very soon will be breaks and refresh on brake fluid.

i changed my plugs at 90k still had oem ones and seemed to be fine i just did it as "preventative maintenance."
