Where do you park at duri g the day?I'm losing my mind with this truck. Anyone have these sort of burn marks on their tonneau cover? I've had the one for a little while, but now I've noticed a bunch more have shown up. Almost seems like light reflecting off a window or something like a magnifying glass? Looks like it has also melted the center plastic in the window a little and the weatherstrip cap on the roof. Weird right?

Most of the time it's just in front of my garage. I drive my work beater most days and leave the truck at home. Truck is backed in front of my garage. Sun rises in front of the windshield and goes over behind the garage leaving it in the shade. Maybe there's a couple hour window where the sun is overhead reflecting off my house window or something?Where do you park at duri g the day?
Yes, absolutely!i went cheap and got it from amazon lol
can I hit you up next time I need to build something?
It's possible if there are windows above the garage. The damage is done, but could possibly throw a webcam up to watch the way the sun hits it throughout the day and see if that might be the issue. I have seen news stories of large commercial buildings that were causing cars in the street to get similar damage from sun reflections off the windows. Most of the time it's just in front of my garage. I do have windows in my front garage (attic), maybe the morning sun is hitting that. Good thinking. I did shine up the tonneau with some spray detailer after I hand washed my truck Monday. There's no making it uniform, I'm afraid. I'm not overly concerned about the $200 amazon cover, but it does look like it has affected my rear window's trim, which is concerning. Especially since Ram won't replace itI’ve got a cover like that but no burn marks.
Maybe apply some 303 to it. The least it would do is shine it up and make it look more uniform.
Poor truck getting blamed for your poor parking practices.I do have windows in my front garage (attic), maybe the morning sun is hitting that. Good thinking. Yeah what was I thinking. If I parked somewhere else, maybe the front fenders and the rear window wouldn't leak.Poor truck getting blamed for your poor parking practices.
Shame!.....
If you parked it in the garage, for sure they wouldn’t leak!Yeah what was I thinking. If I parked somewhere else, maybe the front fenders and the rear window wouldn't leak.
Sadly you're correct, but my 70's built garage with a 6' garage door and 35 inch tires don't mix for some reason. If you parked it in the garage, for sure they wouldn’t leak!
