What I've come to realize is Westin doesn't give a sh!t about their customers (maybe just RAM customers). Luckily you are getting a replacement, I wasted money on their grille guard and was told to go kick rocks by their customer service.

I tried calling Westin first. Their customer service dept had closed at 4pm PST. Sounds like they would have only managed to upset me further. I’m glad AmericanTruck took care of it. What would you place for odds that the next set is damaged to?

I was sent a Westin bed mat by Carid that was not designed for the new Ram and looked like crap. Neither company responded to the emails. I stratched both companies off of future sales. Not worth my effort to pursue the issue but worth my effort to educate others on their "business model".

Got this blueridge overland roll-up dump pouch that I had simply been using the open ITW GrimLoc clip to hang over the edge of the console side cubby. Worked decently, but would slide all over the place and occasionally fall off. Thought I could make use of the velcro surfaces and add some hook-side velcro beneath cubby opening to keep it secure. After more thought, realized it would make more sense to get a nice wide strip of the loop side and run it the full length so that I could attach any velcro backed organization items I wanted (since they usually all have hook side on back).

Found some good 4" wide stuff on amazon that claims heat resistance up to 90 +- 5* Celsius (185--203* Fahrenheit) and doesn't leave traces when peeled off. With seats all the way back, a 12" strip will take you just behind seat to end of cubby opening. Prepped surface by cleaning with isopropyl alcohol then applied the loop side to both driver and passenger side. To support the BROG dump pouch I double sided some hook surface to create two patches that I could put on either side for holding the dump pouch. Keeping it on passenger side now and it works great!

Even had an unused Maxpedition mag holder that I had on bottom of rear seats for baby gear organization (was gonna roll up diapers in the loops but unfortunately too small haha), that I now use on driver side for my survival knife (has glass breaker and cord/seat belt cutter). So many options for velcro organization in general, I'm gonna have some fun! Will report back on whether the adhesive survives the upcoming 105* TX summer weekend.
EDC seems to be another hobby of yours. I can relate!

Did you end up having issues with the grille guard? I remember when you got that, and I really liked it.

I plan on writing up a detailed review once I get a light bar mounted but here are a few high level issues.

1) The instillation instructions are generic and covers a wide variations of vehicles and was inaccurate for the RAM. The parts lists section lists items not included in the packaging and after doing a mock up, I realized I had all the right parts (at least it looked that way) just not the right instructions. During the install I had to run out and buy bigger washers since the ones included didn't cover the holes after removing the carriage bolts.

2) I noticed my grille guard was missing the mounting brackets to relocate my parking sensors. The picture on Westin's site shows a RAM 1500 with parking sensor brackets integrated into the guard. https://www.westinautomotive.com/sportsman-x-grille-guard/2020/ram/1500

The grille guard I received fits properly and looks like the one pictured minus the parking sensor brackets.

I called Westin's customer support line and after many emails and calls, they told me the pic they use for their website is inaccurate and that grille guard is actual not fora 5th gen RAM. It sure as heck looks like a 5th gen RAM on their website, I think they screwed something up and are not owning up to it.

3) So in order to relocate your parking sensor you have to purchase their kit ($98.99)

Seems reasonable except you are buying a kit for 4 sensors and you can only relocate 2. Also, the caps they provide (24mm) to cap the holes after removing the sensor from the original location (18mm) are too large. I talked to the same guy at Westin and was told those caps are for the Chevy Silverado and they don't make the caps for the RAM. The sensor relocation kit seems to be a huge rip-off.

4) This one really bugs me, the grille guard partially blocks my front facing camera.

5) The grille guard does not include a cover for the center section, so unless you plan on purchasing their ridiculously priced ($329.99) light kit you will need to spend another $60.49 on the mesh panel. https://www.westinautomotive.com/product-detail/40-13015/sportsman-x-mesh-panel

There are other other issues but that I will cover in my review.

Finally got around to getting my ceramic coating! Truck is only a year old, so it took a few months longer than I planned. However, it was a great time to do it because my paint was in need of some TLC after a year of washes and no waxing.

I can honestly say that the vehicle has not looked better than the very first day I picked it up. Shoutout to @Patriotmobiledetail for his stellar work! I would definitely recommend him if you are in the DFW or Houston area.

Welcoming my first born on Tuesday and the wife was adamant that I needed a “baby on board” sticker so I pumped out some decals for the truck today. This qualifies and I don’t have to have that ridiculous baby caution sign on my beautiful truck.

I had to balance it out with another decal and I put this flag on every truck I’ve owned.

So I did something kinda silly.... I had some leftover yellow tint from my fog lights, and the inner frugal hoarder in me had to figure out something to do with it. I realized i could use it on my LED side mirror puddle lights lol. I was surprised how yellow it makes the side of the truck/ground.... my inner 16 year old definitely came out, but it was certainly fun. Now the real question to you guys... is this RICE, or is this NICE?? :ROFLMAO:

Been looking at your side steps for a bit. Looks great with your truck. Any opinions worth mentioning? How do you like em?

Thank you! I love them. Real sturdy and all one piece, and they use all 3 mounting points on each side unlike some other steps. Finish hasn’t worn at all either and I use them every time I get in. Honestly I also got them to try to protect against rocks from flinging up from my tires and onto my paint. Been working great for that as well, no paint chips since I put them on

Finally got around to posting about 2 months of additions. Had AMP power steps installed, found a used bed glide and installed it, took another members idea and added velcro inside for extra organized storage. Wanted the utility rails but didn’t have them. Awhile ago now I bought some e track and mounted that on the sides works well enough.
