Come spring I'll get them painted for good, but a had a few duckets of credit to use at the tint shop so figured I'd try these on for size in the meantime.

Oh no I plan on this at least being a 5 hour job, which doesn’t bother me as I have other vehicles to use while this is down.

Did he just use tint film on that section? My tint guy is worried about the RAM lettering in that area causing bubbling

Is it just a straight swap of the bulbs or do I have to wire anything?

I used these https://amzn.to/2G71DsB and it was also very simple plug and play and much brighter. Just make sure to seat the plastic back in nicely to avoid leaks into the cab. FWIW, these are 2000 lumens and the others posted were 1550, both of which are much brighter than stock so not sure if it matters. Photo is new on left, old on right. The housing wasn't screwed back in which is why it looks tilted.

I heard that... I'm amazed at how just how much brighter they really are. I have the 1550's and they turn night into day when illuminated. The 2000's gotta be quasar like bright. :geek:

Yeah, it's shockingly better at night. It's almost blinding. I didn't realize they didn't come on when backing up so I was expecting better illumination on reverse...I also didn't realize it was a pain to change out the rear reverse bulbs and not as simple as the 3rd brake light/CHMSL. I don't have any issues with it anyway, just looking for any chance to improve anything (like all of us).

That gives me an idea... While not automatic, I wonder if you could fire up the cargo lights when backing up to help out those marginal reverse bulbs.

I'd give it a try right now but don't think the neighbors would appreciate the Borla this early on a Sunday morning. :ROFLMAO:

"LUYED 2 X 1550 Lumens Extremely Bright Error Free 921 912 W16W 3030 24-EX Chipsets LED Bulbs Used For Backup Reverse Lights, Xenon White"

From Amazon. No error codes as of yet.
Thanks for the info! I just installed these and they are great. Plug and play. Now I need to find an LED bulb for the third brake light.

I used the same LUYED 1550 Lumens Extremely Bright Error Free 921 912 W16W 3030 24-EX Chipsets LED Bulb... Works just fine, although now I have a spare since they come in a two pack. ;)
