I know their are threads on this but can you explain what you used for the install? I'm still leary about the backup camera wiring and plastic piece

Doesn’t interfere or use the backup camera wiring at all. The clips mount on the same parallel as the plastic cover for the backup camera wiring but I used some 1/4 plastic spacers in the outside clips and 1/2 inch plastic spacers on the inside two and it will just sit in front of the plastic cap. (Had them lying around from some TV wall mount kits)

For the actual wiring you use a Curt 56584 (Link Below) and it is just a splitter for behind where your trailer wiring connector is that adds another 5 pin connector that you use. I then cut the bullet plug off of the included “hard wire” plug and used that in the extra hole for the reverse light.

The hardest part was finding the correct spacer size so the tailgate didn’t hit it and finding out that to remove the existing connector to plug in the Curt adapter you have to pry the tab up and not push down. It was on the top so I couldn’t see it and I was trying to push down for a long time before I just took a picture with my phone and could see it.

All you need is what’s included with the bar, the curt connector, 2 1/4 inch and 2 1/2 inch spacers and used some zip ties and electrical tape to tuck everything back up.

Hi... My name is Al and I have an addiction to blowing money on my RAM. o_O
Maybe with your Ram spending addiction and Porboys exhaust systems addictions, you guys could start a support group "Ramaholics Anonymous" :ROFLMAO:

What is I never will use the huge connector only the standard trailer harness, do I still need the Curtis one?

@mhb1638 The Curtis adapter is used to prevent tapping into factory wiring regardless if you use 7 or 5 pin connector when towing. As well as removing later if you like and leaving no trace of it.

It makes for a cleaner install since the wiring will be hidden behind the bumper. Plus if you don’t use the 56584 connector you will have to hardwire the reverse light. Also if you meant that you will only use the 4 pin and not the 7 pin then unfortunately the Lightbar uses the 4 pin. The curt connector is well worth the $25.
