What did you do to your Ram today???

Wow those Fuel Blitzs on a Billet silver truck looks like someone I know lol..

So its more what i "didn't do"... Cancelled my Katzkin appt...

Ever since 2 weeks ago when my husband got his Laramie, i was itching to get leather put in my Big Horn... Mind you mostly every RAM i've had has been a Laramie, but when they made the 2019 Package i just wasn't feelin' those Laramie wheels OR the 12 inch radio, so i just loaded up a Big Horn instead....

So found a great installer & a great quote and was going to go for it today...But i really had a nagging feeling because EVERY single Katskin install i had seen from the millions of images i viewed just never looked 100% to my eye. Always, "a seam here or a small area there" that looked cattawampus, just nowhere near factory....

I know the Premium cloth is ONLY CLOTH, but honestly they are the absolute nicest /comfiest/ (and heated : ) most padded and bolstered seat RAM has ever made, and they just look so high quality with the white stitching and such, even tho not leather.... I just felt it unbelievably wasteful to take seats that high quality that otherwise look & feel amazing, are in pristine condition and pay someone upwards of 1500 bucks to slice a razor thru them...lol

But here is the kicker: When i called the guy and said i decided it against it, he said, "can i tell you something"?! i been doing the Katzskin installs on Rams for over 20 years, and last year when people started bringing in the 2019 5th Gen's, i really had to keep it to myself that the seats already in them Big Horn's looked fantastic...But i'd never talk myself out of a sale, so i just kept my mouth shut..."lol

Detailed the interior. Really just a vacuum, 303 on most surfaces, and cleaned the glass.

Kinda new here but I have had my 2020 Limited for almost 2 months and today I went to a muffler shop and had them remove the muffler. It actually sounds better than I thought it would. Absolutely zero drone in the cab. At freeway speeds I can barely hear it but, when the hammer is put down it makes sure its presence is known. I love it and only cost me $45.

Yesterday I installed the Mopar Splash Guards on the front and rear and really like the look except for 1 thing. The rear guards are not parallel with the ground which also makes the RAM label crooked.

Put in the cargo/3rd brake light, and reverse light LED’s from lasfit. Next up will be the brake lights and rear turn signals.
Does your truck have the stock LED taillights? I am asking because my particular build came with the upgrade package with the LED taillights and I think the reverse lights are lacking brightness. I read they can't be changed, but am hoping that is incorrect. Love Lasfit LEDs, and really wish I could upgrade the reverse lights.

Like removed completely, or straight pipe from the CAT back? Considering this as well...

Installed my new BR Katavi 20x9 wheels with Cooper ATP 275/60/R20 Tires. I liked the Katavi’s first moment I saw them and they’re perfect for the look I wanted.

While that is nice, my vote would still be the Katzkin. You can do some custom stuff, embroidery, suede inserts, diamond pattern, w/e. With a good installer (and it sounds like you have that covered) it will look factory installed. Katzkin leather > factory cloth 100% of the time.

yes FOR SURE if it wasn't "me" the MOST obsessive lunatic that ever roamed the planet, i would have chosen to do it. In addition, the cloth inserts on the door would have had to be done as well, and when i looked at all that was involved in the installer accomplishing THAT, it sealed the deal for me that i did NOT want my doors unassembled and at the end of the day, decided its best to just "leave well enough alone" as it were, because FOR ME, i know i would have been kicking myself with all the reservations i began to have, had it not come out "perfect" and then to have spent 1500 bucks in the process to be dissatisfied : )

So in my case Risk < reward 100% of the time : )

I recommend you take the $1500 you were going to spend on seats and get yourself a nice cat-back system to one up your husband.

Damn it !!
