What did you do to your Ram today???

Day 2 of my trip to MT:

That was the route I planned in the morning before leaving, but changed my mind about hitting Butte. Instead, I checked MT511 map and found 41 and 55 are both dry and clear of ice so I took that route instead.
Saved about 40 minutes or so.

So not used to big rigs taking every lane possible. First time seeing this.

(Part 1)
Today I went to Belgrade to accomplish my goal for making the trip out to MT.

Last day with empty bed. And good MPG.
1699075668124.jpeg
Only 36F outside.

Belgrade!

Seeing this you should know what I'm here for!

They did it in less than 15 minutes.
Yeap I joined Team GFC. The people here are really nice and if you are planning to do GFC I strongly recommend coming out to MT to have it installed.

Task completed, now time to head back.

1699075948273.jpeg
Slushy ground. No wonder every vehicle on the road look like they went offroading.

No one around on the interstate.

Not going to lie I'm looking forward to this kind of lifestyle... big acreage ranch home with ample spaces.

Found my dream home.

Crossed into Idaho and saw the snow covered peaks.

Hello Salt Lake City

UT is beautiful as always, especially today.

As I'm sitting in my hotel room posting these, I can't help but miss MT already. I will for sure come back again in the future, perhaps late summer/ early fall.
If you live in MT, please let me know how's life there! Really putting it on my potential list.

Now, my MPG has gone down the drain with GFC from 17MPG when I started out from the hotel to 14 when I got down to Cedar City, UT. The additional weight and drag do play into the equation, but at the same time I also think setting cruise control at 80 going against the wind up and down the hills is also one of the contributing reasons. Also unsure if the lower octane gas contributes to the drop in MPG too.

I guess I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Tomorrow's plan is to stop by Valley of Fire, NV to fill up gas tank and restock my cigarettes, pass by Vegas and deal with the post SEMA traffic going back to SoCal to have my friend does his magic to further secure the camper.

Granted most people putting that in their trucks aren't worried about fuel mileage too much, but it looks like they could do a little better job with design for aerodynamics without reducing the utility of it.

Also got a ranch hand installed because I’ve had too many close calls with deer. 😂
Spent $600 on a new starter. 😢 Only 44,000 miles and I needed a new one. I’m making sure to have the auto stop/start feature always off.

Something like this would be a simple fix and would probably boost your mpg back up a bit.
