I can't believe that 1.5 years later, they are still building these trucks with the drain tube grommets out of place. No excuses. It digusts me.
A couple of months ago I took my truck to a second dealer (after 4 visits to my local dealer), and this dealer couldn't replicate my water leak either. This was my 5th time taking it in for wet carpet and wiring harness area on the driver's front floor. Their tech sealed 3 different spots just to try and pursue a process of elimination. These areas included the pinch welds posted on this forum, the drain holes beneath the door sill, and apparently some drain spot in the floor pan. I didn't have any issues during the cold winter, but now it's raining again, and after 1.5 days of light rain the carpet is wet again. I only have 16 months of warranty left at this point and I fear Ram will not resolve my issue.
Has anyone found any different areas of leak in the last few months other than ones already posted?

Print out the 4-5 items we posted earlier (TSB's, Star Reports, etc.) and give them to the Service Manager. Doesn't matter if you have a warranty or not -- they are covered via the manufacturer. If they haven't yet reset your 3rd brake light, that was the main one that was leaking for me. I still need to have the pinch welds sealed myself - just haven't turned it into the dealer body shop yet.
Depending on your state, x-number of return visits for the same issue within x-number of days, the dealer has to take your vehicle back under the lemon law and be "fined" $18,000 .. read up on your local laws before going they route. Otherwise, the dealer is still on the hook for those leaks no matter what.

Thanks for your support. I will go back and look up all of the issues in the forum, but pretty sure I already turned them all in to the first dealer. And unfortunately, I am in Canada and we don’t have a lemon law at all. A person can only fight their own case though one of 2 organizations that are both sponsored by the government and the auto makers, so it’s rare anyone wins. I just have to keep pushing, and hope that something gives.

Anyone know if they change the rear plugs for 2020? My 19 ram had the rear plugs seated properly but I just took delivery of a 2020 Limited and the rear doesn't have anything sticking out at all, just the black grommets. Front is fine. Sure enough, first car wash and from passenger side was soaked. Spent all last night cleaning the carpets. Just what you want to do with your 6hr old truck. Waiting for the GM to call me Monday AM with a solve.

Wow! I’m so sorry hear that this is still happening. I just can’t believe that Ram hasn’t launched recalls on these water problems! I really hope they find your leak fast. I have no idea if the plugs have changed or not. Maybe yours are missing, hence the bad leak?

Turns out my leak was a result of poor body seem welds that needed to be fixed. I am thinking they changed the rear plugs

Well I’m really glad they found it. Big relief for you. Was it the pinch welds behind the rubber seal around the door opening?

Seems it was near the floor board on both sides actually. Had to pull the fender wall cover and seal.

They had to pull my driver side fender and seal some factory welds, they also had to go under my floor board and apply some epoxy onto the weld seams.

I just got a call from the dealer that they found the cause of water intrusion which was causing my driver side floorboard carpet to become wet. They said that it was a bad driver door seal, the one located on the body. They will order it and call me when its ready. I will let everyone know if that fix worked after we have a heavy rain and can then check the carpet for wetness.

I doubt it's the weather seal, that's what my dealer said at first...

Hi @Cruising - If your dealer experiences a delay in receiving the part, please do not hesitate to follow up with us via private message. I would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf so that a specialist can work alongside your dealer to get it in asap.

I am new to this forum and don't know how to send Ramcares a private message

For future reference, you can hover your mouse over the profile icon, and then you will see the options 'Follow', 'Ignore', and 'Start Conversation'. Click start conversation to create a private message. I did, however, go ahead and send you one just now!

With respect to the 3 of you, were your leaks replicated at the dealer, hence detected that way? And does your leak happen just sitting in the rain, or when driving it in the rain? Mine seems to be just when sitting in the rain, and not every time (so inconsistent). Two dealers have not been able to replicate the leak, hence no idea how to fix it.

Mine only showed up just sitting in the rain. It was at the dealership when it happened too so they were able to find it.

So were you able to determine if sealing the welds and seams eliminated the leaks ? Have you checked it after a heavy rain?
Yes, after they sealed the welds the 2nd time (the ones under the carpet in the cab) I have had no more leaks. It rains quite a bit here in Virginia and I have checked it everytime it rained. No more leaks.
