Polished my brass diver watch

Approximately 15 years ago my boss tasked me with a project that took over a year to complete, with zero tolerance for failure. We were successful and one of the things he did for me was to reward me with this watch. Rolex SeaDweller.

Nice! That one’s a classic. That will appreciate significantly in the next 20 or so years.

Here a few of mine, I bought the swiss watch in the Swiss Apls when i was 21 that was over 29 years ago. Not the best photos and now i am wondering where the hell time went?

I used care about watches but now mainly just wear the samsung watch. I might try and get my hands on a Franck Muller Crazy hours at some point because I love the random numbers. Or maybe a Grand Seiko just as an F U to the Swiss for cancelling their chronometer competitions after Seiko kept creeping up and beating all the Swiss guys lol.

Grand seiko’s mov’ts aren’t at the level that the Swiss mov’ts were at 40 years ago, but they’re improving. The thing about Swiss mov’ts that’s slightly frustrating (besides the availability issues) is that they never wanted to innovate to increase accuracy. They created a norm and stuck with it. If they could have worked their mov’ts into something as accurate as the seiko mechaquartz or the precisionist mov’t, then they would stay king for decades longer.

Wish i made tag heuer money,
Here are mine. The smart watch gets the most use. The charge last 5-7 days. Lets me read messages and other notification alerts. Good for work since i leave my phone all over the place20220318_212406.jpg20220318_212233.jpg

Those Marine Stars are great!

There was a time when I always had a watch on my wrist. I'd go out the door without my wallet, but never without my watch. Always wanted an Omega. Sorta came close. Just couldn't really afford it. I stopped wearing a watch about ten years ago. I've put the Expedition on a couple of times going fishing but couldn't stand having anything on my wrist, go figure. I do have a "dress" watch and I can't wear it either. If anyone's interested... hardly worn. Sad laying in the drawer.

Casio WaveCeptor. Stainless steel, solar power, radio controlled. Had it a long time, just hangs around and works, needing only a little bit of light every couple days.

Don’t get to wear them much cause I’m always working. Heavy construction and Rolexes don’t really mix. 2019 submariner two tone and a 2018 explorer II stainless

I bought this Festina, my first step into ”nice” watches (usually just had Timex or Casio types) in France in about 1999. Unfortunately the bezel is broken, but I can’t bring myself to throw it away. I’ve inquired about getting it fixed, but apparently this isn’t something that can be fixed.

The watch has gone up quite a bit in value since 15 years ago.

I missed the Rolex boat, prices even for basic Submariner stainless has doubled on the used watch market. I'm just going to get an Omega Seamaster, for now. Maybe one day, a stainless Submariner on an olive green mil-spec nato strap, lovely.

Do you actually want to fix it, and if so, what’s the model number?

Of course I’d like to get it fixed! The only problem is I don’t know if it’s worth the cost, meaning I don’t want to spend several hundred on getting it fixed if it’s only worth about $50. The back reads Registered Model Collection 8806 (I think).
