I would like to be able to turn the backup camera on full time when i have stuff in tne bed.
I do not see a setting in u connect for this. Do i need one of the obd tools that let you edit settings?

If so does anyone know the setting?

How does your back-up camera include the bed in its field of view?
I can only see the road behind the tailgate with my camera.

Are you thinking of a cargo camera?

To see behind you when you can't see out of the rearview - yeah?

There's a backup cam button which times out after ~15 seconds? But for fulltime on, you'd need to use a Tazer (or similar) to get permanent on as an option

You could also upgrade to the digital rear view mirror. Assume whatever is blocking the window isn't blocking the CHMSL.

Not a cargo camera but a rear view camera when i have something in the bed or a cover over the bed (home made)

That is what i am looking for.
O have seen two tools so fat Taxer and Ofm odc (can never remember the name)
Does anyone know the parameter i should use?

Not sure what CHSL is i assume cargo camera. I assume cargo camera.
The cargo will be blocked.

Hauling display cases. Or will have a home made bed cover that fits over a loading rack rated for 1000 lbs. ugly thing but i can put weight on top like a load of 2x12 without worrying. I have a rear window in it but would prefer to be able to use the backup camera as a rear view camera when it is on.

You could get a 2-channel DRVM and rig up the second channel to some custom mounted camera that sees over your gear.

There is no "persistence" setting for the backup camera in Uconnect. It will stay on for something like 8 seconds and revert back to whatever you had displayed before you switched to that view. I'm not sure if that's something you could do with alphaOBD or not. Maybe someone who's used that can chime in.

No you can't
OP has UC4, a Tazer DT should allow him to keep that camera on in motion. Us folks whit 2022s\UC5 TazerDT doesn't work for most live functions including that.

CHSL is a camera mounted in the cyclops light in back. It looks out back, not at the cargo. It converts your rear view mirror, to a camera screen.

Thanks for the explinatinations
I will probably get the alphaobd because i only got one key. I bought two more fobs that are blanks. The dealer says he wants $100 a piece to program them.
I know alphaobd can at least do that and i an only a little out of pocket but have options at other adjustments. Eventually i want to add adaptive stearing and then lane control. As well as trailer cameras but i have some work to do to verify what wirei g i have at the back for the camera. I know I have to replace the center consul to get lean control button. I’m hoping I will get some ox one and Knox two buttons as well that I can then set up for trailer cameras. I may also look into what I need to add Trailer TPMS.

AlfaODB can not program FOBs.

Mine is a 2019 I am confused if it is a 4th ot 5th gen.
I have links to alphaobd programming keys. Before I buy it I will double check on the year.

If you have a funky looking key fob it's a 4th gen.
If it just looks like a remove and the keyblade is hidden in it, it's a 5th gen.

4th gens are called "classic" with trim names like "warlock"
Laramie and Laramie trim names refer to 5th gens.

I believe your 2500 is still based on 4th gen.

I am even more confused
I am attaching a photo of the fob
The alphaodb site says that tbey can activate the fob, but they may be wrong
