For those of you driving a 2019, 2020 RAM 5.7L with eTorque, how’s your real world gas mileage? Is it as great as what the EPA sticker suggested? How has it performed? Thanks!

Please see existing threads (hundreds or thousands of posts) on mileage/economy and/or visit Fuelly and filter by trim and powertrain. My current lifetime average is in my signature, along with my extensive options list. The window sticker will never represent a loaded configuration, even under ideal driving conditions...which I don’t have here in DFW.

I'm getting 16-17 mpg driving in a lot of stop and go driving back and forth to work. I was closer to 14-15 with my 2014 ram. On the highway it does do to much but I get 21-22.

Thanks Biga, that’s good to know. SpeedyV, I’m not finding the search function all too helpful. Was just easier to ask myself.

It does take a little digging, but it keeps us from having yet another duplicate thread.

FYI - The first “titles only” search result for ‘economy’ might be useful: https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/fuel-economy-3-21-vs-3-92.15388/

Another good search word is ‘mileage’; the first hit here is https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/poor-fuel-mileage-highway.15904/ (there are a bunch more relevant results for that particular word search)

You might also search on ‘window sticker’ or ‘octane’...sometimes it will be the third or fourth hit in the results that is most relevant.

I just bought my 2019 rebel v8 with etorque I have driven 200 miles so far average mpg is 15 half city half in highways. But probably the first few miles I was pushing the car test drove it that’s why the mpg was so low .

Everyone says to do a search, but frankly it DOES NOT WORK. Way better off doing a google search and then clicking on the link to this site.
I just gave some examples. They all worked. From my phone. It’s even easier/faster from my computer. But a Google search works too.

This is what I get more often then not:

Like I said, does not work. I’m not the only one.

Like most forums, you need more than three characters for a search to work (e.g. you’ll get nothing if you search for “PCM”, but searches for “tune” or “program” will yield results). Experiment with searching “titles only” - knowing it will limit the number of results - to try to get more accurate hits.

I’m not a moderator, but perhaps one of them can chime in with other tips.

Or just continue using Google ;)

I'm almost identical to this.

17.3 to and from work for a week.

21-22 on interstate around 70-75mph.

2003 ram 1500 gets 13 to and from work and about 17 on interstate

Man I'm not anywhere near 20 mpg on highway.... I'm lucky if I get 18.0. I don't get it. I have the 33 gal tank and have run it pretty low but have never put in more than 30 gal when fueling up. Starting to wonder if the computer is wrong or something.... idk. Was really hoping to get at least 20 mpg hwy.

I often do a G search and yes, this forum posts usually come up readily, top hit often...

If I just drive back and forth to work for a week it'll be 21-22. If I mix stop and go with errands it'll be around 17-18. IF I pull my boat it'll be 14-15. Alot goes into any fuel mileage. Elevation, hills, wind, rain, ETC. It doesn't take much to affect what number you get.

2001 Ram 1500 V8 (230hp), sticker highway mpg 16, last checked 14.75 (may have better) pure NJ Parkway
2019 Ram 1500 Hemi, (395 hp), sticker 15 city 21 highway, best mpg highway 22.54 (also some 22.3), worst 10.4
16.68 overall mpg 12,000+ miles
Impressive improvement: Sticker (71% increase in hp 230 to 395, 31% increase mpg-highway from 16 to 21)
Actual best highway mpg increase 52.8% from 14.75 to 22.54

For sure! And tires, ambient temperature and driving style too.

During the summer with my stock 20’s and the Bridgestone Duelers, I was regularly able to get 21-22 highway like you said. But now that its winter, and I’ve swapped to my winter wheels with Yokohama IceGuard tires, I’m lucky to see 18 on the same stretch of highway.

My old Nissan Titan was the same story, when i needed to replace the stock tires (Bridgestone Rugged Trail T/A - garbage tires btw) I went with KO2’s, which were legitimately awesome - but cost me 3mpg instantly because of the offroad tread. Folks with Rebels will probably never even approach the sticker advertised mpg.

Winter tires = safety
summer tires in winter = wreck waiting to happen
