I had the same “fix” for mine, if I didn’t have the 1/8” jack plugged into aux my screen would jump constantly from input to input. Since taking the console out I have no issues with power to usbs and the media hub is working as it should. Thing is, I didn’t actually do anything, I just took the console out, did a mod (took the cd player out), put the console back in after cleaning the connectors and it all works now. Well, maybe not all, the light under my console lid stopped working. That’s fine, I’d rather have power and CarPlay again. Edit: Do you have a cd player? It’s curious to me that things work now without it.
How easy was it taking the console out?

4 plastic covers to pry off at the base of the console, then 1 piece on either side of it where it meets the dash. After that it’s 6 10mm bolts to loosen. Pull back, detach 2 connectors and it’s done. There’s enough room in the cab to stand it up and then turn to lay it down and get it out.

the first time I have ever had a truck that is so dependent on the radio controlling everything making the truck useless half the time, the glitchy POS is making me decide to never get another RAM along with all the other crap rear window leaking, exhaust manifold cracking whats next? As soon as interest rates come down if they ever do I will go to a pre 2019 model F250

Thanks for the info!

Its the connector on the back of the USH port panelports....I reached behind the panel (hard to do) and reseated them. I haven't had an issue since.
I was getting constant charging not changing and dropping of apple car play.

Did the same yesterday. Radio comes out with 2 screws and some careful pulling. Then I just moved the connector a bit and now I’m working again. Thanks @Ultra-Harley

For anybody that is still experiencing this issue, I ordered a new media hub… And installed it, and still had the same issue… Constant power cycling off and on, and no CarPlay connectivity. After troubleshooting, the media harnesses back-and-forth between the two media hubs I have, I noticed that unplugging the right connector sent constant power to the USB, as before it was installed, I could see the lights constantly on. So what I did is continue to troubleshoot, and just before giving up, I went underneath the console, lifted it up, and unplugged a harness underneath. Instantaneously CarPlay turned on, I had my phone plugged into USB at the time. I was in disbelief, didn’t know if I wanted to try to plug back in that harness underneath, so what I did is I tested the USB in the back and they all worked. The 110 power in the back also worked. So, with some hesitation, I plugged in that harness underneath the console back in, and everything continued to work. I reinstalled the center console, and as of right now I have CarPlay. hopefully this helps somebody out

Btw, anyone know what that harness underneath the center console does? It didn’t seem to be related to the console power in the back seats. Might have been the wireless charger - I forgot to check that before I reinstalled everything back.

Hey there, I guess I got a similar issue with my truck, even if I think it might be a bit more tricky in the detail.

I recently bought a 2019 Sport from a German dealer that is specialized on importing and converting RAMs and other FCA cars. They told me it has Android Auto/Car play (as I didn't have a cable at hand, I couldn't check it, but as far as I know the Sport with 8.4 has it as standard).

As it was a 5 seater and I needed a 6 seater, they converted it for me. As they were lacking a proper harness (or wanted to save some time), the front USBs (1 & 2) aren't connected at all and the rear USB (3) is connected (and recognized) as USB 1. When I plug in an USB stick it's playing music without problem, plugging in my android phone, it's being charged and the radio tells me, that USB 1 is being read but Android Auto isn't starting.

From a good guess, I would like to connect the front USBs as they are supposed to, hoping this will fix the issue. So, my question is, does anyone got a part number for the wiring harness going from the front USBs to the respective module?

Thanks and best regards from Frisia, Germany

Simon

Edit: I tried several USB cables and both ports on USB 3 (A and C)
