Updated 2" Mopar Lift/Level Kit - Discussion

Well I finally got my lifted installed the other day, ran into a minor problem but nothing too big. Instead of using the screw type of coil compressor I went to my friends house to use his hydraulic coil compressor. We got the drivers side done and went to start compressing the spring (ORP) and the mount broke of from the main tube that it is attached too. Tried to weld it back together and try again but it was getting too dangerous. Thin metal probably more suited for car srings, was ok with the stock springs but the ORP was stiff. Anyhow took it to local shop and paid $100 to have the driver side put together. Other then that, it was pretty straight forward and simple glad I did it myself rather than pay the shop. Although in between the lift (and currently) I am installing a pool for my buddy as well so it’s been a very busy week. Still have to install the Borla exhaust this week or next.

Anyhow, don’t know if people are using the screw type compressors, I wouldn’t use it with the ORP springs. After the hydraulic compressor broke we tried the screw type compressors and man they were starting to bend like crazy and we were not even compressed enough to put the mount back on. Was getting to sketchy for us.

Also got my sprint booster stuffed away where I wanted. Drilled holes behind the screw cover on the center console. If you do this, watch when drilling because if you look at my pictures you’ll see my drill had rubbed, so I went and got a cloth to cover while drilling. So warning use some kind of cushion between drill and console. No big deal tho it’s a truck.

Also I think my CV axles are not that bad of an angle and even the ball joints don’t look that bad. I have seen some that are more at the limit and worse CV angles. Alignment looks good, had to take it back as wheel wasn’t straight but everything is fixed up.

Anyhow I am about 3.5” at the front and about 2.25” at the back. Looks to be about 1/2” of rake but honestly looking at it the thing looks level. I love it and the ride for me is better then it was stock. The rocks really absorb the road great and the speed bumps in my neighbour hold are great now. I know I will loose some ride quality once the Nitto RG are installed, which reminds, I am leaving now to have them installed and the rims powder coated black. Here is the Sprint Booster Install. I just tuck the sprint booster in the pocket as it’s not something I will constantly change and I wanted it hidden and out site. You’ll never see the hole in the pocket unless you are looking for it so it’s hidden pretty much.

Are most of you guys running 3.92s in the rear?

I have the Mopar 2 inch lift and just purchased the Hellwig swaybar 7883 for lifted trucks. For those that have installed it, were you able to install the end links without removing the wheel ? Watching videos on youtube preemptively and it seems like everyone takes the wheel off to install new end links. Hellwig instructions say not to take the weight off the suspension to install it.... so that would mean not jacking it up and removing the wheel right?

I haven't installed one yet, so I can't say about taking wheels off, but it's a general rule with swaybars and other suspension components with bushings to TIGHTEN under load. You could install it on a lift, but don't torque everything until it's on the ground.

I did not remove the wheels for install of the end links. No need to.

I have 3.92s. Im running 275/65/20’s (34”x11”) so I had bought the rough country speedometer calibrater and set it on 32.75”. I just filled the truck up yesterday and so far with 55-60 miles its saying 16.7mpg with a mix of heavy footed city driving and freeway driving at 65-70mph. The speedometer is spot on as high as 80mph so far.
Before I calibrated the speedometer I was 3mph off at 40-60mph and 4mph off at 60-75mph (was going faster than truck was showing). The transmission didnt shift as smooth as it does right now. I would floor it and it would hold the higher rpms for longer than normal. Now with everything calibrated, its like stock. Smooth shifting and rpms go back to normal as soon as I let off after flooring it. It still has plenty of get up and go.
 
Well guys I just got my kit today and I'm stoked. I have the AB version and parts from the AC version. The only difference between the AB and AC that I can see is the rear bumper pad bolt.

Front Shocks are 11 13/16" from top of spacer to bottom of mount. Top of spacer to centerline of mounting hole is 11 1/4" (approx.)

Basically the box as a whole is marked AB. Some parts are stamped AA, some are AB (front shocks for instants) and one AC (bolts in parts bag)

I just purchased an AB kit from BAM Wholesale parts but it came with the additional spacers and the part number on the box did not have the AB suffix. The parts list and the individual front shocks are identified as AA. I am a little upset that I did not get what I ordered but as long as I have the extra spacers then I will proceed with the install since I already have an appointment for early next week.

No problem. Another member that lives close to me ordered a few days before me. He got the spacer kit and I got newer kit. Ordered from different dealers. So I don't think there is a way of getting a specific kit even though the invoice says you'll get the updated kit.
 
Sneak peak, just picked truck up. Just have to paint the center caps black and there is some rubbing at full crank and I can see where. The back at the back of the wheel well, lower corner so a little heat or cutting will solve it. Tire guy put about 42lbs or so dropping them to 38lbs.

Ok hub caps are not painted black to match the rims. I got about 5" of lift total give or take due to ground and measurement with tape measure. I'm with 1" of level which is perfect. Gives me a little room for level when towing and looking at the truck it looks level. I can't notice a rake really.

Looks good! Get the lifted version of the sway bar so you get the beefier endlinks.
 
I ordered my hellwig - lifted sway bar last week. All the sites I messaged said they ship directly from hellwig and gave an estimated date of August 20-25th. I did find one for $280 out the door price from an authorized dealer after searching for a couple days and directly messaging them. Hopefully it will arrive sooner!
 
When hooking up the rough country calibration to do my tires I noticed this little pull strap while working under the dash.

I pulled it and the truck rolled forward. Is this the strap to put truck in neutral if needing to tow from the front?

What's the newest mopar 2 inch lift kit model number? Does it level out the truck or still have a rake?
