Can someone tell me if I have the current software? I checked Mopar and it says no updates for my vin but I read not to trust it. Pics attached.

Yeah I have and it says I don’t need an update but I’ve read it’s not always accurate. I have some weird things going on with my stereo and just want to make sure I don’t just need a software update. Can anyone confirm what the newest
Software is?

Yours appears to be newer than mine even though I had mine updated since I have bought the truck. My FW/SW version shows 182808/00182800/00182800 and my EQ version shows 2018-7-26. Mine is a UConnect 8.4 / no Nav. I had problems with rebooting and with the USB remembering my drive before I had my update done. I have zero problems now...all the UConnect stuff works perfectly.

This past Saturday my 12 inch UConnect started resetting itself about every 2 minutes...over and over and over. Shutting truck off did not help, calling Sirius XM and having them reset Sirius did not help. Took to the dealer on Monday and for the last 3 days they have been trying to figure out and attempting to reload software. Called UConnect and they verified I have the latest software and although they heard of the issue that I am having they cannot help and defer to the dealer. Dealer gave me my truck back today because they stated they could not keep me in a rental because they are waiting to hear back from FCA on the fix with no timeline provided. So I am disappointed that I have to drive my truck around with this annoying reset every couple of minutes. Im all ears if anyone can HELP!! The dealer told me they opened a star case.

Comforting to know that FCA doesn't have a clue about a fix for your issue and meanwhile you are stuck with a $2000 accessory you can't use. Unreal.

Delete all paired phones and devices from bluetooth in radio. See if it goes away. Also make sure there is nothing plugged into the dlc, like Allstate drive wise, etc. Repost and us know

Bram2019 - all paired phones and devices are deleted and nothing plugged in... Thanks for suggestion but still nothing but continuous resetting.

MJP - I agree unreal. I guess bragging about my fancy new truck has come to an end.

Maybe it's time to replace the Unconnect system itself. It's obvious the issue is beyond a "software glitch". They should replace the unit and send yours to FCA for analysis.

My Uconnect had a few issues that were just minor nuisances really. The FM radio volume would fluctuate intermittently, it reset itself every once in a great while, each time I started the truck it didn't remember which track was playing on the usb thumb drive, etc.

I brought my truck to the dealer to have the two recalls completed. Like the OP, when I checked my VIN on the mopar site, it also said I had the latest version, but I asked them to check anyway and update if necesaary, which they did.

Now my radio resets itself every four minutes, like clockwork!!! Precisely every four minutes on the dot!! I brought it back today and asked them to try again, and now they're saying that the radio is bad and needs to be replaced!

So now I have to live with a radio that reboots every four minutes until the module comes in, whener that might be!! Awesome!!!

If you're experiencing minor issues with your Uconnect, you may want to reconsider having it updated!!

How did the dealer determine that the radio is bad and not a software issue? My dealer has not made that determination yet, they seem to be still focusing on the software.

Now that you mention it, it would be great when the new radio module gets installed if the USB port functions as it’s supposed to! These trucks have been out for over a year now, and apparently FCA has not figured out how to read MP3s from a flash drive. Can you confirm that this should function on my RAM?

Summary of the issue:

I leave a 64GB flash drive plugged in to USB1 at all times. 90% of the time when the vehicle is started, and media is selected (USB1), it only recognizes one song until it scans the entire drive, which takes several minutes.

It only recognizes that one song (always the same song), and it does not remember the active song, or my setting preferences (shuffle all, play list, etc.). Once the drive is completely scanned, I have to go in and browse >>songs>>shuffle all, etc., and then it operates as expected until I shut the truck off, then it does it all over again.

Every once in a great while, like 10% of the time, it actually remembers the active song and settings. It’s pretty annoying.

After they updated the Uconnect, in between the four minute reboots, it was even worse. Same thing, one song recognized (same song), but it didn’t seem to be scanning the disk at all.. Furthermore, I also did not get alerted when I received text messages, which used to work fine before.

Granted, apparently the update killed the radio, so it’s possible that these issues are related.. I’m hoping that once the new radio is installed, all these issues are resolved. Because, frankly, this should be a non-issue on a 2019 vehicle. Especially after one year of production.

I did mention all of this to the Service Manager at the dealership. He’s never heard of anyone else having similar issues. However, there are plenty of people on this forum that have complained about similar experiences.

Good question. I don’t know. They reflashed it and came out to the waiting area and told me the radio is the issue and they had to order a new one. Apparently, once updated, they cannot go back to the previous version. I asked what happens if the new version is worse than the old version? They didn’t have a good answer.

Does that mean you’ll have to reactivate Sirius and pay a fee to transfer to a new radio?
