Trying to pick Toyo ATIII size for 2021 Limited

Have a 20212 Limited with Air suspension. not looking to Lift or Level. Read thru tons of posts and looked at a lot of pictures. Going with Toyo ATIII on stock wheels but trying to nail down the size. Here are what I believe to be my three choices that fit with minimal rubbing. I am looking for a more aggressive look from stock. Minimal off road driving but need good snow/rain traction.

285/45/22 - Stock size 32 inch tall by 11.2 wide XL 4 ply 42 lbs 13.6 tread depth
285/50/22 - 33 inch tall by 11.2 wide 10 ply 60 lbs 16.5 tread depth
33/12.5/22 - 32.5 inch tall by 12.5 wide 10 ply 65 lbs 16.9 tread depth

Looking for recommendations and reasons to go with one vs the other. Right now I am leaning towards the 33/12.5/22 my only concern is the stock rim being only 9" wide

I am in the exact same boat as you and just made a similar post a few days ago. '21 Limited w/ Air Suspension. Keeping suspension completely stock and I'm going to get Toyo OC ATIII's but I can't nail down a size.

A fourth size you could look at to further complicate things is the 305/45r22.

Reasons to not go larger:
1 - Gas mileage decrease: 1-2 mpg on the 285/50r22 and 33/12.5r22 and 3+ mpg on the 305/45r22 (from what I can gather)
2 - Speedo/Odo will be thrown off. You can always get that fixed but people have run into issues and it's just one more thing to worry about.
3 - Rubbing. Those larger sizes will rub almost definitely in Aero/Normal mode under full lock. From what I can tell, it's easily fixed with adjusting/cutting the splash guard though.
4 - 33/12.5r22 has a load index of 109, which is less than stock.

Reasons to go larger:
1 - Those larger sizes really look like they belong on the truck. They look so good.
2 - Extra rubber should mean a more comfortable ride.

Discount Tire shows a 33/12.5r22 fitting a rim from 8.5" - 12.0" so you should be good. Tons of people have run those sizes on the stock 22s.

My hang-up is that 33/12.5r22 and 285/50r22 are both LT tires. The general consensus seems to say stay away from an LT tire if you can help it.
My question is, what rides smoother: a more narrow P rated tire or a thicker LT tire? I've read that the 285/50r22 or 33/12.5r22 LT is going to ride rougher than the stock Goodyears and I've also read that they ride smoother due to the extra rubber.

Running 305s look amazing and it's more rubber on a P rated tire, but I'm not sure I want to take a 3 mpg hit, even 5-6 mpg in one review. I'd love to hear somebody say they haven't taken a hit that big on the 305s.

I'm personally leaning towards the stock size because I'm tired thinking about it...but I still haven't made up my mind.

any pictures of the 305 45 22 ATIII on a 1500? The more I look into this the more I think this is the size to go for. Cant understand why there is such MPG hit something else must be in play

You mentioned in another thread that you saw a 3mpg loss. Is that the corrected number accounting for the larger tire size or just what the truck is saying?

What the Truck is saying. I haven't been through a full tank since putting these on. Been on the truck a week and a half. My "Lie-o-meter" says 23.3 MPG for around town and highway.

I put 305/45/22 ridge grapplers on my truck. The ride is the same as stock, and so far it seems I only took a 2 mpg hit. I didn’t recalibrate the speedo yet. I’m looking for something reliable to do that, but haven’t come across anything concrete yet. The mpg hit is with the truck in aero mode.

Man I really appreciate you taking the time to put all of this info in a single post. I also have a 21 Limited with air suspension and after reading this I think I am going to just stick with stock tire sizes. I don't want to deal with worse gas mileage or any type of rubbing etc... Personally I prefer more of a sport look on the truck so I may just stay stock wheels/tires with spacers or get a more aggressive offset wheel (eyeing up Vossens) and again stay with stock tires.

Keep us in the loop on what you end up doing.

What did you end up going with? would love to see the end result as I am trying to decide between 305/45 or 33x12.5 . . . whichever allows a more comfortable ride. I dougho like the look of the wider 12.5s though. I am debating adding a 1 inch spacer to just barely gain a more aggressive look.

Just an FYI... I replaced the stock Goodyears with stock size 285/45R22 Toyo OC A/T III's. Got surprised yesterday in the Home Depot parking lot to hear the slightest rubbing in Entry/Exit mode while backing out of a parking space. It sounded as if it was from the passenger front at full lock. Not a big deal at all, though... and I suspect the rub might've been due to the WT mud guards, but not entirely sure yet.

I do not. And its all stock. The 285/55r22 do rub at full lock, but im pretty sure its just the corner flap of the liners, I just havnt gotten around to bending it yet

Looks good man, how’s the ride quality with the LT tires? Any rub at full lock? Any noticeable MPG hit? I’ve got the same truck and plan on doing this exact setup - just trying to decide between 305/45 or 33x12.5.. if you’ve got more pics that would be awesome. Thanks!
