This is the second time in the last 2 months the truck abruptly disengaged the transmission. Needless to say a trip to the dealer is coming. In the interim, if anyone has any insights into the problem, I appreciate a note.
It's a 2019 Bighorn - 5.7 Hemi (no e-torque) with about 3.5K miles. The transmission just disengages with a little jerking motion and I have to park it and return it to drive to engage once again. Pretty concerning that without any warning it would do this. The first time (Dec 12th) it occurred while crossing a busy intersection and luckily it didn't involve an accident (but I did create a scene briefly). I called the dealer and spoke with the service advisor that day who said to wait till the 1st service interval to check it since it's probably a one time bug/issue.
Yesterday's it happened just around the corner. On both instances i'm accelerating from a stop and didn't get beyond 20 mph before the flashing started and the car just went into neutral until I followed the process above.
I recorded a video during the second incident to show it to the dealer. Basically the 'D' light on the shifter blinks and i get the message on the picture below (shift to P and then the desired gear).
I like this truck, but i'm starting to worry that this but could lead to an incident. I appreciate any guidance and will report back once the dealer tells me something.
