Hello I just purchased a new 2024 ram 1500 bighorn. I hooked up my trailer (4-pin) lights and tried to hit the button for the light check. The button does nothing when I press it on my screen and no lights start flashing. It says light check ready but it seems to not be working. Any ideas as to why?

I am probably not much help as I have never used mine (I never remember to use that I bring the fruit of my loins light checker with me) but if I remember correctly you must be in park with your foot off the brake pedal

Mine acted the same way, use the one in the instrument cluster Scroll up/down to the trailer page then right to trailer light check. That works on mine. I enabled mine with alpha obd.

I have the same exact issue on 2023 Ram Rebel. There's not even an option in the instrument cluster. The only option is from the center console and that does nothing. All software is updated. Unreal that this is even possible on a new truck.

Same issue on my 2024 Rebel - nothing in the cluster and the button in UConnect does nothing

Me too. 2024 Rebel. Some days the light check and "trailer gauges" work, most days they don't. 2000 miles on the truck. I'll be taking it in as soon as possible.

Mine does the same thing with the 4 pin but it works fine with the 7 pin connector. I wonder if it only works with the 7 pin? Doesn't make sense.

I haven't looked for kne in the center stack, I use the one in the cluster and works everytime. I assume everyone has trailer tow options.

I have a 4 pin connector and use the one in the cluster. Works every time. 🤷‍♂️

Do you guys have the big new full digital cluster in your rebels? I just retrofitted a 2023/24 digital cluster into my 2019 2500, and for some stupid reason, it seems that for some stupid reason ram removed the reliable EVIC trailer light check, leaving us with the very hit & miss Uconnect trailer light check, which has never worked for me.

Did you get this sorted? I just bought a 2025 and I am having the same issue.

Pretty much never worked on my truck. I have gotten it working by hitting it, then hitting setup, then hitting “use this trailer.” The selection light will turn off then come back on in a sec or 2 and then the truck will start the light check sequence. This only works once however. After that it’s a no go. I suspect the programming is messed up and the computer thinks the “use this trailer” touch button is in fact the “activate light check” button. I swear these trucks have no consistent programming plan. It’s like 1 person does one party and another does another but nobody is there to ensure it all works the same and everyone is programming code in the same manner.

Does it work through the cluster?

It depends on the options your truck came with. I turned mine on with Alpha OBD.
