Folks, I have to pass on my experience with Morrie at TonneauFactoryOutlet and James at BAK. I ordered a BAKFlip MX4 from Morrie after seeing the great reviews on this forum. Morrie gave me a good price and cover got to me in about half the time forecasted. We all have heard of the difficulties with the rail system on the short bed with Rambox. My truck has the silver rails and I was really struggling to get the cover rails to attach. I decided to call Morrie for advice. He contacted James at BAK (while I was on the phone) and they decided I needed different cover rails. They were shipped immediately and received in 3 days. The cover with new rails fits great. It's got some leaking around the tailgate but I expected it to. I can't begin to describe how refreshing it is to deal with people who truly care about their customers. I can't say TFO is the least expensive as I never shopped anywhere else but, I feel like I got a pretty good price. I can say their customer service is the absolute BEST! Thank you Morrie and James for restoring my faith that there are business out there who still give a ****!

I'm thinking of going with the RAM OEM version of the MX4, because you can get it cheaper than others if you use the 15% accessory coupon that is on the Mopar site. Then if you consider shipping costs ( dealers don't charge for shipping), the saving are much larger than first look!

Can you elaborate on the issue with the rails?

I ordered mine from the dealer with the 15% coupon. $765 out the door, and your right - no shipping. Problem is it's on backorder with no delivery date, but I'm in no hurry.

Yes, best price I've found so far!

Yes sir, the 1st set of rails didn't fit in the slot on top of the Rambox rails. I have the silver rails (non OEM Tonneau rails which are black). As far as I know, if you didn't order the OEM cover, your truck comes with the silver ones. TFO & BAK recognized the issue right away and got me the new rails in about 3 days. I wasn't willing to wait for the MOPAR cover (backordered with no get well date yet) and am completely satisfied with TFO and BAK. I'll spend the few extra bucks to have it now and TFO/BAK's customer service is top notch!

Hello I need your help ASAP. I just installed my MX4 yesterday and there is an issue in mine that I am waiting to hear back from Bakflip about. On each rear corner, there should be some kind of weather stripping to keep rain out, and a there is nothing shipped with the cover. There is anywhere from a 1/2" to 3/4" gap on each side. See photos. If you wouldn't mind posting photos of your install in same views it would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you so uch in advance!!!!

I got a great seal everywhere except where the tailgate is 1/4" from the bed.... That's a ram issue not bak. A little rubber seal makes it perfect
LOL, I just sent you a message about the same issue I am having. I should have read a little further in. I'd still like to see your fix to see if I am on the right track. I've attached what I did today and hoping will work, may be not enough, waiting for rain that supposed to come, but might just simulate it. Anyway, photos of your fix would be helpful since your fix is working. Thanks!!!

Hi All. New member today. Joined because of this thread.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited with the Ram Box. I had a Tonneau cover company order me the BakFlip MX4 Toneau cover for it. They ordered the one they say that fits my truck. 448227RB. They tried to install it and said they couldn't because it wouldn't fit on my truck with the Ram Cargo Management system.

Has anybody installed this Tonneau cover? Could you post a picture showing ow it attaches?

Trying to get the answer before they ship it back.

Cheers and thanks in advance.
Chris
That is the correct model number, 100%, installed mine yesterday. HOWEVER, the rails that it is shipped with are not fitting the rails on the Ramboxes on the newly built Rams as Ram must have made a change in their tolerances. Mine fit great on the passenger side but was a no-go on the driver side. I contacted Bakflip and 2 days later they sent me retrofitted rails that fit like a champ. This was not a Backflip issue, this was a Ram change that was not communicated to anyone. Very happy with my cover, however, there will be a gap on each corner of the tailgate you will need to provide your own weather stripping as it isn't provided for or even mentioned by Bakflip. That IS on Bakflip and I've brought it to their attention. I'm working on my own solution now. Pictures attached. Hope this helps.

Installed my Bak MX4 yesterday. I have silver rails.

Passenger side fit without issue. In fact, I installed it, pulled it off, and put it back on after I installed a tie down cleat near the front of the truck.

The driver side was another story. Made it about 5 inches before it got stuck. Soap, nothing. WD40, nothing. I determined that the rail on the truck was ever so slightly curved at the top, where it meets the Bak rail. I took an angle grinder with a flap wheel and ground the truck rail down ever so slightly. It took quite a few whacks, and it's probably not coming off without a lot of effort, but the Bak rail went on fine after that.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think some of these Ram rails are extruded out of spec. I doubt you'd spec a rail to have a curved edge.

In any event, 3 minuted with a flap wheel solved the issue.

It's definitely a Ram thing on the driver side. Same problem on my side, I had them ship me their retrofitted rails and they fixed the problem. Anyway, glad you are up and running. Let me know how you are dealing with the gaps on the tailgate corners and the leaks. I'm still waiting to hear back from Bak.

I picked up my mopar hard trifold cover on Friday. Just got ready to install and discovered it is a glossy surface. I though I was getting a Matte Finish. I'm may sell if anyone in DFW is interested. Trying to figure it out right now. I have $828 invested.

Mopar Part Number 82215225AC

I have the mopar cover with ramboxes and when I go through the car wash everything in the bed gets soaked....I am very disappointed with the seal, I tried to fill that gap with a rubber gasket but haven't had any luck. Does yours leak? Do you have suggestions to fix that leak?
Any luck with filling that gap yet? Having the same issue.

Just a suggestion, but I'm thinking you might want to slope the added insulation away from the cover so that it forces any rain getting in that gap away from the bed.

I already have my MX4, just waiting on my truck. :)

Now I need to run out and get some Frost King insulation. Where did you get it?

Hi, I'm in UK, soon to be owner of 2019 RAM 1500 Limited with Ramboxes (sold my 2014 a couple of weeks ago); I'm looking at https://www.agricover.com/lomax/pro/ Lomax professional series hard tonneau cover with aluminium finish. Any experiences? Do they fit well with the ram boxes? Does it matter what rails are on my Ram (I've no idea what mine will be, it doesn't arrive in UK for a couple of weeks)? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Just ordered my Revolver X4 from Morie @ TFO. Give him a call. He is a great guy with loads of information. He will definitely treat you fairly.

I’ll post pics once I receive and get it installed.
