Mine was fine for a long time. Seemed it learned my driving habits and adjusted accordingly. I usually drive pretty hard so it seemed the throttle programming recognized that.
Last week I towed my boat for about 800 miles and after disconnecting I notice a drastic change in throttle response. The delay is very obvious. While towing I was very easy on the throttle the entire time. Only thing I can figure is it adjusted for that and has to relearn again.
Such a stupid system. My 4th Gens were never like this. Hit the gas and instant power. Don’t understand how they could screw that up so bad.

Interesting. I did just tow a trailer about 1700 miles a couple weeks ago. My memory is a little fuzzy on if it was happening before then. I think it was, but I'm definitely not sure. I also did just have the brake controller installed before that trip.

I've got the same issues, except mine started from zero k's. I run a '23 sport GT. A bit annoying, i've got 20,000 k on it.

You've got a GT, kit put it into manual shifting and shift up/down. Will probably solve 99% of your issue

I’m kinda used to the surge but googling it, sounds like it’s a redesign from the 22s and newer.
the other issue, its Not happening when the engine is shut down. Rolling into a stop sign, stopping (slowing 😀) and then accelerating to get out into traffic Is when the hesitation or lack of response happens.
This is exactly what I experience with my 2023.

I had the same 2021 but without etorque and it didn’t do this.

I can’t believe how much more I like my 2021 over this 2023 due to this issue alone.

Is there a fix for this?

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone was making any progress with this before I head back to the dealer. I have a 22' 5.7 Laramie that I purchased used in January with 50K miles. The most noticeable throttle delay is when I am slowing to a stop and then try to re accelerate. The delay could be a full second and a half before the truck actually goes. Last night I was slowing to make a left hand turn and then went to reaccelerate and nothing. I thought I was going to get T boned with my kids in the car.

That's not throttle delay, that's the transmission hunting for the right gear. As you are slowing down, it's not downshifting to conserve fuel, when you don't come to a complete stop and try to accelerate again, then the transmission has to try and downshift to the correct gear to match the throttle input and speed. But since the throttle input is changing so fast it can't react fast enough. You can try manually downshifting with the gear limit switches as you slow down and you will find that hesitation all but goes away

The surge forward is from ET, and is a totally separate from auto stop start. The ET motor generator turn the wheels 1/2 turn when the brake is released to save fuel.

That’s not accurate. ET assists in the first 1/2 turn once you press the throttle, it doesn’t turn the tires on its own.
Assists being the key word there.

So it doesn’t creep forward when you let the brake go?
