Best I could for for ya.. Couldn't crawl under the truck this morning in my work clothes to get detailed pictures of the Curt Harness which basically is acting like a splitter for the tow connections.

I now see how you used the electrical staple bodies as clamps great idea!

Maxx102,

Appreciate the feedback. As for the MFT, I honestly barely ever open the tailgate the traditional way. It's been quite handy and convenient for me, but this is my 1st truck as well. If I had trucks for some time, I'm sure my muscle memory would lead me to opening the tailgate in the top down manner vs split open.
So, after reading the entire thread, I am unclear as to wether anyone WITH the MFTG has successfully installed an Opt7 Redline Triple 60".

I've ordered all the spacer kits and Curt adapter etc. Before I start drilling and screwing, I want to make sure I can still use the fold down aspect of my tailgate.

Thanks..

I’m in the same corral as you. Would like to get the opt7 bar and not pay more for another bar with less features/functions(to me anyways). Not willing to be the Guinea pig either I guess due to the cost. 😂😂

Does anyone have pictures or videos of the actual light output? Not the back of the truck, but a good quality ‘illuminate the dark’ shot. I’m leaning towards the 18” Putco but cannot find a good video or picture of the reverse or brake light output.

I installed the Opt7 Redline Triple 60" on my 2021 Limited w/ MFTG w/ no issues.. I ordered the box of assorted round plastic spacers off Amazon and a box of assorted stainless self tappers.

The tailgate clears just fine..

I thought these went on with an adhesive tape?

Where do you use the plastic spacers and self tappers?

Thanks for the reply and pics. Now to convince my banker. 😂

How long have you had it installed and any issues with the clips coming lose over time?

I did use the Curt 4 Pin adapter: CURT 55384

I also used the Plastic Spacers: 100pc Plastic Spacer Kit

I drilled a tiny pilot hole for each of the three clips. Yes, I only used three.

I also cut the red adhesive backing tape where the clips were, just to give it a little extra to keep it in place.

Does your bar still work?
I went through 2 of those bars over 3 months and ended up just returning the second one and saying screw it.
I would lose LEDs and white LEDs would pop up while not hitting anything. The last time it was flashing white light while driving, thank god I didn't get pulled over and ticketed.

I have had my 48 inch version of the Opt7 lightbar for about 7 years now and haven't had a problem with mine.

Interesting. I wonder if they build the 60 inch differently.
Everything was water tight so it didn't seem to be a problem with water or ice\snow getting in. Weird.

Not sure but everybody that puts the 60 inch one everyone says you need spacer and stuff. 48 inch version I just mounted without anything.

I’ve gone through several of these with 3 different companies. None of them survived a winter. On my third OPT7 60” when they sent me the warranty replacement I sold it when it arrived and haven’t bothered with anymore.

No issues with my Putco 60" bar for the past 13 months. It has never had the luxury of living in a garage and last winter was pretty nasty (for southern IL). Now I live in Texas and I have been testing it in the heat this summer.

Why is everyone wasting time modifying or trying to make those light bars fit when you can just get the 18 inch ones and get the adapter the plug in under the bumper and you’re done….I get so many compliments from RAM OWNERS out driving asking me where I got my set up……

Its just 4 washers to make it fit...super easy and adds no extra time to the install.

We'd love to see more posts of the 18 inch options in this thread. I have only seen a couple pics of them, so I went the full bar since I knew for sure what it was going to look like.
