Sun Visor broken

All,
My part from Amazon for some reason is no longer available, per the Amazon site.
But in the last several months, the parts work well with the better screws I purchased from Lowes.
So currently my part is not a valid part to purchase, if it comes back I would highly recommend provided you use the new screws I purchased.

I saw some bad reviews about the Amazon clips so I drew up my own. If anyone here has a 3D printer, feel free to grab this and try it out. There's a passenger and a driver side; the two parts are symmetrical of each other. Open the little flap, remove the original screws (T-20), place the printed bracket and screw back on with the original screws.
I just installed mine; it works; we'll see how it holds.
(this is my first time sharing a Fusion360 drawing. If you have trouble using it, let me know)
I printed your STL in PLA and and now printing in ABS to increase the strength. I did notice on my 2020 that the design is just a tad short, where the mouth opening that actually holds my broken post doesn't quite reach all the way. Are you able to share a Fusion design file directly (not the view-only file currently posted) so I can attempt to increase the length? Thanks a bunch for the design!

Be afraid, be very afraid. :ROFLMAO:
The sun visors were redesigned a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure most 2020 models and newer got the new visors

Both side of my 2022 Ram Rebel broke and one was covered by warranty the other was not. While I was replacing mine another guy pulled up to the service area to say his both on his 2021 Ram 1500. Cost 255 to replace on side ridiculous..

First day owning my 2022 I immediately noticed how cheap the sun visors looked compared to my 4th Gens. Absolutely ridiculous for what they charge for these trucks.

Mine broke off in my hand the other day while I was driving down the road. I reached up to flip it down and the whole thing came free. Pretty annoying.

How are your printed brackets holding up? Any issues with heat?

I’m joining the club for this, my driver side plastic surrounding the inner metal piece broke. I went to move it to cover the driver window and it felt like it was stuck so I gave it a little tug and CRACK! The plastic fell apart in chunks but thankfully it’s not detached or dangling.

Count me in on my 2022. Went to flip down the passenger side and it just dropped, like it was already broken. Which is weird because I never noticed it, it's only been opened a handful of times since I bought the truck, and no one else drives it. I use my driver's side all the time and it's still fine.

Ordered some random repair clips off Amazon, we'll see how they do I suppose. Looked at replacement visors and that price is just ridiculous.

I reproduced the 3d part and created an STL file that folks can use to 3d print this part. I installed one in my 2020 RAM 1500 successfully.
Thanks so much! I'm going to print one and see if I can't repair my passenger visor.

Hello All....my passenger side visor broke.....its hanging from the wire.

I took it to the dealer and was quoted $293 ($260 for parts & $63 for labour) - Canadian price (Vancouver).

I'm not a technical guy, so I have to rely on someone else, unfortunately. I also bought an extended Mopar warranty, and my truck is still under the extended warranty. My dealer said that this is not covered under the warranty because it is a cosmetic issue.

So my questions are:
- Has anyone else gotten coverage under the extended Mopar warranty for this issue?
- Is the price reasonable?

My dealer quoted me high on something else too, and now I am skeptical of everything they say. I probably will stop going to them and look for another dealer. But before I go to another dealer, I wanted to do my homework.

Thank you

FWIW my deductible for warranty was 200 of that similar price... So I bought this set and moved on with life. I want it repaired properly but the new ownership of the dealer I like to go to is dropping the ball.

My drivers side was loose and finally came out. It’s still in the shop, the parts didn’t come in as scheduled and we’re supposed to arrive yesterday. Waiting to hear when we can pick it up.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube but there's also this. I wish I'd seen it before I replaced my visor.

This printed perfectly using ABS with 100% infill. This fixed my mirror in 15 mins including print time!
