Kinda old news already. Not at all surprising that they’re eliminating the Classic model.

In a way I regret getting my 5th gen, I could have saved some more money by getting the classic/4th gen and I'd probably go that if I could redo it all. Nothing against my truck, but that classic was the best deal in the half ton market for these last few years. Sad to see it go.

It was a deal because they were cheaper to make and lower quality than the 5th gen. I think I saw it posted once that thebo my reason they kept the classic going so long was for the fleet sales side of the house.

Anybody have a link to how many Classics were produced each year? I can’t seem to find that info for some reason.

I was at the dealer yesterday picking up my truck from service. Chatted with my service rep about pending strikes and other issues. This video sums up many of the issues. Possible that Ram, Jeep, and others will be shut down or sold.

When the video was talking about Jeeps, average price is now around $40 - $50K. When I bought my 2012 Wrangler in 2011, it was in the low $30K range and they had base models for $17K. Sticker on my Ram was in the low $60K range for a Big Horn with cloth seats and no climate control. Pricing many out of buying new vehicles and inventory is piling up. Meantime, they're investing in electric vehicles in a saturated market.

Not mentioned in the video is the 2025 Ram with the I6 Turbo. Sure there are people that were lining up to buy the new engine, but what is that doing to sales figures in an already troubled market? Nissan already discontinued the Titan. Can you imagine if the Ram brand was shut down? You'd be left with Ford, Chevy, and Toyota.

Would be hard to imagine with as many as they sell, their biggest increase that nobody talks about is their expansion overseas. Sales of Ram trucks were up 80% last year in the middle east. The biggest thing I would worry about is parts and dealer service.

My local RAM dealers have like nearly no stock, 10-15 truck each, all white or grey middle range models, maybe one Rebel each. However, the Ford, GM and even Toyota dealers have a ton of trucks on their lots.

I suspect RAM is having some sort of production issue right now?

Might be your area or what you're looking for. I'm not far from you, but anytime I do a search for different models I would like, I find around 20+ within a 30 minute drive. I just bought a Big Horn 6 months ago, but often search for Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel, always the '24 though because I'm not a fan of the new I6.

I think there are 7-8 different RAM dealerships in San Diego county, I searched their new stock of 2025 1500 trucks, it's hardly any in comparison to the Ford and GM dealers in the area. I think the biggest on has 25 trucks on the lot, but still not the 50 - 100 on other brands.

Could be local though, LA county is larger of course, but I am comparing apples to apples in my area.

Yes, possibly limited new stock. I tend to look at left over stock within 50 - 100 miles.
