As I indicated in another thread I have used these with success in 2 other vehicles and my 19 Rebel is running very nicely with it. The install took 15 minutes I located this small panel to see were to run the control wire through down to the pedal. I could have squeezed the wire between panels but elected to drill a small hole the size of the plug. The controller simply sits in the small pocket completely hidden and super accessible. Using this a little longer and after towing my boat using it I can report it totally takes the lazy feeling I felt driving this truck,the other vehicle I drive in the summer is a tuned Hellcat. If you put the level up too high the transmission will shift down immediately with about mid adjustment you can roll on throttle a bit prior to downshift feeling much more natural. Highly recommended.
 
Hey Chippy - were you able to use any promo codes when you purchased it?
 
Ive used the Sprint booster and the Pedal Commander, both performed very well
 
Not trying to be a naysayer here, but all the sprintbooster does is effect throttle position, it doesn't actually add any power or anything. Why pay all that money when you could just put your foot down a little more?
Am I missing something here, or does it literally just give more throttle sooner on the pedal?

Same argument applies to the Pedal Commander. Just makes it “easier” to obtain the desired throttle response.

@rlc2020 I get what you're saying. I went back and forth on tuners vs just "adjusting fire" for throttle lag. Due to my heavy association with computing technologies, I am all about overclocking and pushing electronics to higher than normal operating limits...most of the time. Its always a "depends" value proposition. While internally debating this, I did some research, but was not down to venture into too many rabbit holes - so, to prevent suffering some form of analysis paralysis, I boiled it down to this line logic (right or wrong):
  • Did I really need to have more horsepower or just experience better response? Horsepower is of course nice, but it was the "Driving Miss Daisy acceleration" that irritated me. Give me the output I want, when I want it (realizing the ceiling has not changed).
  • Did I know or desire to research how the tuners might affect the powertrain over some period of time? I assume the designers and engineers built the systems to withstand more that what is "recommended" as normal operating conditions - but I don't know by how much. Since I am not chicken-pox-itching for more power, I am totally risk averse on this.
  • Did I feel like risking warranty challenges and the annoyance of ensuring there was no trace of a tuner when bringing in for maintenance? Simply, no.
  • WRT which throttle response device to go with, I based this on form factor, time in business, reputation, did not have to stay connected when set, and price. In my research, sprint booster came out better, but PC would have been fine too.
Who knows!...I could put this thing on and start Yosemite Sam cussing because, deep down, maybe I did want more power. ;)

This is my thinking as well. My "Ankle Commander" works just fine, is infinitely adjustable on the fly through a hands-free interface, and didn't cost a thing.

Buddy simply even if you push your foot quickly the throttle follows slowly and it feels tired. These simple devices give you the ability to set the throttle to follow how fast your foot actually pushes the pedal and makes the driving experience better. You need to try one before you discount them.

You would be shocked at how much better it makes a drive by wire vehicle perform.

I guess so, I haven't tried one so I really don't have anyway to judge that. I used to run tuners in my mustangs, but those added HP too since I had intake and exhaust work done as well. Changed timing and fuel delivery as well as throttle response. I always wondered how much of the added zoom was just them changing the pedal response rather than actual HP gains.
 
I’m installing mine on Wednesday and I’m sure it will suit my needs.

After installing one of these and trying the 1:1 options (Sport+ on PC) you can easily see why manufacturers do not use 1:1. You'd spin the tires almost all the time.
2. Throttle lag. Aside from thinking it boosts MPG, I can't see why Ram would introduce the time delay into the programming BUT you cannot fix this with more throttle! You have to use either a Sprint Booster or Pedal Commander to eliminate the time delay the factory uses on throttle response.

That's really interesting. I would have thought that the pedal is just an input, and any delay would have be built into the ECU. That's clearly not the case.
 
The pedal is just an input, but the mistaken assumption is that it is in a linear scale, which it is not.

I don't have one on my 5th Gen, but I run one on my 4th Gen 3500 dually with the Cummins/AISIN combo. Those with this configuration know full well the problem with lag at takeoff, especially under load, that can be downright dangerous at times. Remapping the pedal response is the best, balanced solution to resolve this because it leaves no footprint or fingerprint to deny powertrain warranty, and your not changing the torque management where the HO Cummins would grenade the AISIN in the lower gears. So, in this case it's a functional modification versus a go-fast goodie. I have zero regrets for the $240 I spent to correct what FCA really should have with a flash of it's own, but... I have left it in when my servicing dealer has done warranty work, and I have had both the lead diesel tech and service manager ask me what I did to get such smooth takeoff with that truck! :cool:
