Sure, insurance is there. But so is civil court. The OP was robbed. The thief was arrested. Sue his ***.
My Beretta 9mm would love to help find them scumbags! That’s sick! Some people are that low. I will definitely be checking into some type of wheel lock.
Scram-I hear ya! I’ve got Taurus Raging Bull, that’s a bull you don’t wanna run with.
These will not work on my wheel locks for certain. And by the time they try to hammer anything on any of my wheels the alarm shock sensor will make it go off.
Exactly what I have. 2 on each wheel actually.Seen these mentioned on the scat pack forums. Since of course typically you can hammer on a socket and get most wheel locks off.

Noise.. Gorilla wasn't too good, mopar was better.
Sounds like a good idea aside from the time it takes to get a hearing, lawyer fees, and the time for you to get reimbursed. Basically time and lawyers. Lawyer(s) will be needed pre, during, and post and will suck the life out of any reward. And these days with fill-in the blank matters, it's gonna be an uphill battle.
The less time dealing with lawyers and criminals the better off you are. The only caveat is if you have a friend or family member in a law firm you trust and is willing to take the case without gouging you. But even then, you need to decide if your quality of life if not your very life is worth being a criminal antagonist. The insurance company can do that.
I have seen those. Tall cone wheel locks this week, deep socket extractor next week. It's a never-ending circle of building a better mousetrap, but nowadays the mouse has youtube. I think those are the best option this week, but I am willing to bet a beer that in 9 months there is a method for getting those off that won't be that complicated.E

The way it works in my eyes is the scumbags of the world don't have anything to lose. You or I on the other hand probably have a house/home and family that was acquired through years of hard work and concerns for the ones we love. All wheel locks can be defeated. With battery-powered tools, these days thieves have a one-up. They can however make your vehicle just a little bit less appealing as a target. As for wanting to do bodily harm to the scum bag, I totally get that. As a CCW holder though for multiple states, if I caught someone stealing my wheels I am stepping back and calling the police. It is too easy to end up in jail these days while that same scumbags mom in on the news 24-7 telling the world what a great kid he was trying to help feed his family. Cowboy justice isn't worth not being around to send my own kids through college.
Some states prevent the criminal from being able to sue you but you better know the law in your state and decide if it's worth it.The way it works in my eyes is the scumbags of the world don't have anything to lose. You or I on the other hand probably have a house/home and family that was acquired through years of hard work and concerns for the ones we love.
Already had a friend get involved in a confrontation with a shiiiit head. Shiiiiit head has a few capped teeth at my friend's expense and my friend never disclosed the final cost but I believe 1st lawyer was going to be 25K and switched to another that was 50K and civil settlement was not disclosed but may have been 100K.
Criminal case, civil case, demotion at work (reduced from a felony so he kept his job), community service and substantially reduced $$$.
Try to believe in Karma as the scales of judicial system are not always balanced.
Karma
Karma means action, work, or deed. The term also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect, often descriptively called the principle of karma, wherein intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual: good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and happier rebirths, while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and bad rebirths.
In some states yes, but just because you win you still have to try to collect. The business next to ours covered one of my trucks in overspray, long story short went to court, they did not even show up so summary judgment could never collect. No debtors prison in the US. It is the working guy that gets screwed, I am still mad about that truck but the other business owner forgot about it a long time ago. Went bankrupt shafted all kinds of people and just got another job. As Jako said, let the universe deal with the scumbags.Wouldn't this be small claims, so no attorney?
If you are pulling a gun you better be shooting to kill.Maybe hold them at gunpoint til LEO gets there
They'd work, you would just use a small one and slam it into the center shaft and crush that sleeve. These will not work on my wheel locks for certain. And by the time they try to hammer anything on any of my wheels the alarm shock sensor will make it go off.
soooo...again, why pay for insurance?.... the odds that a scumbag like that even SHOWS up to a civil proceeding is laughable, almost as laughable as thinking that if he did he is going to actually pay you some settlement..please...Sure, insurance is there. But so is civil court. The OP was robbed. The thief was arrested. Sue his ***.
HA HA.....you got me Mike! ya,.. math was never my strong point...What are you driving Marine, a Civic? Last time I checked there were 24 lug nuts on my Ram.
Otherwise I couldn't agree more with this.
Sigh.soooo...again, why pay for insurance?.... the odds that a scumbag like that even SHOWS up to a civil proceeding is laughable, almost as laughable as thinking that if he did he is going to actually pay you some settlement..please...
