3.21 will be faster for a roll or top end pull from highway speeds, 3.92 will be better from a launch. There is no free lunch in rear gearing you either give up low end or top end. Can’t have both.
I was just thinking, is it possible lower axle ratios could, at times depending on track conditions, allow wheel spinning on launch thus costing time? Maybe the 3:21s wouldn't be so quick to "break loose". I don't know what the answer is, track conditions, tire abilities, driver all play into the equation.
