Snow Driving

I have noticed a bit of vibration and noise compared to my 2018 Ram 1500 when in 4 auto. In 4 hi there is definite binding during tight turning. I didn’t experience any of this in the 4th gen truck so I am guessing this transfer case is different?

Yes. The transfercase is different and the clutch pressure is higher

We had a flash freeze on the roads this evening after the snow melted a little today and as soon as the sun went down the roads where like glare ice. I had it in 4wd auto and I was getting sideways even when pulling away from a stop at slow speeds in 4wd Auto. I put it in 4wd lock and did not have the issue so while nothing is great on ice, I would say use 4wd lock if on ice.

That is more or less what I meant by my earlier post.
On ice and in slushy snow I usually take off in 4-H.
Does it make sense to go back to 4-auto when in motion or can I just leave it in 4-H till the next turn or stop?

You can leave it in 4HI until you get to a sharp turn unless the turn is snow or ice covered then you can turn in 4HI too .
