Gotta replace the rear link bars with adjustable bars to correct the pinion angle and stop the rear end from hopping. That's the factory engineering fail!

Bright idea💡... already done it and changed the rear U-joint! Rear end is hopping caused by a bad pinion angle, that's what's eating up tires at 500 miles on up.

So why are some people swapping out wheels and fixing their issue?
Doesn't seem to be a one single issue.

[/QUOTE I think ram knows they have a problem so they tell the dealers to tell the owners that it’s the tires and ram doesn’t cover tires the tire manufacturer does! That exactly what they did to me. So I went to an independent tire shop who confirmed that my truck was way out of balance again after 2 dealers refused to check the balance because they said they just balanced the tires. Tire shop told me definitely something wrong with the truck but it’s not the tires. At that time, tire shop says, we think all your rims are warped, but the tires are not your issue. So when I called ram to tell them, they tell me my truck will not be right until I replace the tires! I told them Bridgestone refuses to replace them, because tires are not the issue. Finally I got ram to send their trained professional to the dealer where he said truck definitely has a issue and it’s not the tires. They also replace rack and pinion, front axles, swapped rims and tires twice, last time dealer had truck three days and tried to replace several parts with no fix. I would be pissed if I bought new rims and tires for my new truck and I still had vibration issues!

Well my truck has been at the dealer for a 3rd time. I’ve duplicated the vibration, I’ve videoed it and I have opened a case with Ram. The service manager told me the mechanic couldn’t duplicate the issue this time, like the did last time. But he drove it and did feel a vibration around 70-75 but it went away after a minute. They suggest I go to a place and have a road force balance done, those are needed sometimes for low profile 22’s like the factory wheels I have. My “case manager” I still have not heard from, I’ve called and talked to others and they told me I would get a call while it was at the dealer for the last two days, but that didn’t happen. I’ve sent an email back to Ram, trying to get this taking care of. No luck so far. They should advertise it as an around town truck and drive on the highway at your own risk. It’s not as bad as the Ford death wobble, but there is something wrong that is ruining other parts, and making the ride very uncomfortable and after a good 8 hr drive the vibration causes a headache.

Are you able to return your truck back to stock for the warranty work or lemon law case? It's a frustrating situation but you can't expect a warranty or lemon law to cover modifications.

I fixed my vibration issue by changing out the wheels and tires (at my expense) to another set of Ram wheels and tires.

Ram Cares helped me out with an unrelated issue. I was pleasantly surprised as my experience with different dealerships had been so unhelpful. It's free to give them a chance.
Interesting that you discuss needing to bring things back to stock for warranty purposes; The Magnusson-Moss Act specifies that in order for any "Aftermarket" modifications to void any warranty, the Manufacturer has to prove that the modifications caused the problem. I've had a few encounters (Not my RAMs though) where a Dealer's Service Advisor told me that because of my mods, the warranty was voided, but when I mentioned the Magnusson-Moss Act (Many consumers are unaware of it, even though it's from the 60s or 70s), the warranty was applied.

What was the outcome?
Told ram it was the last attempt to fix it, after 3 more days at the dealer, they replaced the front axles, however still had a vibration. Told them I had enough and got them to lemon law it. I think this truck has or had several issues, after a new rack and new axles it seems better, but still has a wobble / vibration. It will be going to auction in a few days and I ordered a 2021 Laramie sport! Independent tire shop told me all the rims were bad. 2 dealers and a ram specialist tells me the issue is not rims or tires. Idk I give up!

Don't give up! The 5th Generation Forum is here to support you. In words and information that is. You are on your own for $$$. Personally I have my 3 sons for that aspect.
Best of luck for the 2021. From following the forum the "vibration" can be a real tough issue to correct.

Right, but it's already a challenge to get FCA dealerships to acknowledge the vibration exists and isn't normal on a stock truck. In this situation, I would recommend returning the truck to stock. I'm aware of the MMA, but complaining about a vibration issue when you've modified the suspension, on an FCA vehicle, makes for a tough time. It creates two arguments when one is hard enough.

One is hard enough, that’s right! The hardest part I had was some to acknowledge that anything was wrong when I knew it was from day one!

Wow so finally got my oil leak fixed after three visits and one transmission pulled later . My truck also has a harmonic vibration at 70-80 like it is in the wrong gear. I’m just freaked out anymore these 2500 trucks are not cheap. I love the product but can’t help to feel I got one with some troubles. Two front tires already have blown belts and they seem to wearing badly as well. 9773 miles.

Can you "hear" the vibration? A drive line vibration will have a low bass-y hum/drone to it
exactly like I thought mine is best described as a harmonic vibration

I had the same exact thing happen! Mine are Bridgestone. Local tire shop pulled me out also to show me vibrating rims. Also said warped rims and they will never hold balance. Had 3 dealers tell me it’s not the rims lol. They are supposed to let me know by end of the week if they are buying my truck back. If not let the lemon law begin!
Yeah, I'm basically at the same crossroads. Filed a claim with Ram Care and will speak to them again on Monday 11/16/20. Spoke with them on Friday 11/13/20 and basically gave them the rundown on my adventures thus far. Going to see what they propose, I'm 1 step away from claiming Lemon 🍋🍋 Law.
Well you need to send the certified letter in the back of your book to the manufacture then they get 10 days to respond. After that they also get ten more days to repair or settle. Then you get two options monies back invested minus mileage or replacement vehicle not to exceed 105% msrp and all money thus far invested transfers over. Good luck.
I aslo have spoken AG office to state of Florida myself on more than one occasion at least they up to date when I have to proceed.

Hi All, glad I found this thread as I am having a similar problem but was convinced it was a tire issue .... especially since it didn't start until I put new tires on! However, at the same time I had installed Bilstein 5100 shocks, front and rear, with the front shocks set to raise the front end 1.6". Rear ride height would have remained unchanged but the drive angle may have changed slightly because of the front? Does this sound like the same issue? I will have to do a lot of reading of this thread!! See my thread at: Vibration after Bilstein 5100 leveling??

Sorry to hear of the vibration with the changes. On a positive note your brain will get a good workout reading all the material available and hopefully correcting the situation. And of course you will be able to help your fellow man (well at least 5th Gen Forum members). Best of luck.
