Just took delivery last week (9-28) of a Ram Limited. Within a few hours of taking delivery i have the body creak when turning and a massive interior water leak. This truck was literally built/completed the week of September 17th 2018 FYI. It rained all weekend in my area so my interior is soaked, i mean totally saturated. I may as well of dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water out in my cab. Called the dealer and reported the issue, I will be directing them to this forum as these are major issues. Obviously new builds are no better than the older ones people have reported. Beautiful truck but sadly its been tarnished with less than 50 miles driven. FCA is gonna get some grief with vehicles of this cost having these types of issues.

Was there a water seal upgrade option I was supposed to select? 50 miles and I'm pretty bummed out.

I picked up my 9/8 built Limited last week and had a little water in the carpet from a heavy downpour two days later. I was ready to drop it off at the dealer but had to run to the airport in an even heavier & longer downpour. Just before the deluge, I cracked and re-closed all four door windows and the rear window. Got to the airport and checked and it was bone dry. I was stunned. I honestly don't know if I have a leak or somehow I let water in.
Just something to think about/check.

Thanks Edwards, I checked this as well. All of my windows were closed and i checked the moonroof as well. I will report back what my dealer has to say on the matter.

Some have reported the drain between the bed and cab not being properly installed letting all the water in. I just checked mine and they are good. Just finally getting some rain here after about 6 months so this thread reminded me to check the drain tubes.

I think I have the creaking noise too. It's really annoying and it sounds like it's coming from the back drivers side somewhere. Anybody else experienced this?

If it is the thunk when turning appears to be front end. There are a few threads on it thankfully. Good luck!

Sad to hear they are still having issues with these later builds.

I hope you get these problems fixed.

Thank you 19RamLimited, I have been following your threads on the clunk. I will be referencing these when I speak to the dealer.

Picked my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited up 2 weeks ago and have 12150 miles on it. Raised driver floor mat and found the carpet wet and a green crud growing on it and the bottom of the mat was wet. I vacuumed and dried carpet and mat and within two hours drove in a light rain and again the carpet is wet. After reading this forum I found the drain tube grommet behind the cab is completely out. I will take it to dealer tomorrow. Hope this is all that is wrong. Nothing like a musty smelling $68000 pickup.

A couple of questions:

What is the exact location of this drain tube you speak of?

Do you know what the drain tube is for?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Drain tube is between the bed and cab. It’s for the sunroof. Sunroofs don’t completely seal, they are designed to drain any water that gets past the seal to all four corners via drain tubes. The front tubes usually go down the A pillar and drain out behind the front wheels, the back on the 19 Ram drain between the bed and cab.

That sucks... Sorry to hear that. Take alot of pictures, and document everything.. email all communication to the dealership or FCA. I had the clunk on my ride home last month from my purchase. Not a good feeling on your new truck. I work in the finance and legal field.. Document everything, you'll be amazed at what gets done...vs.. undocumented phone calls etc. Hope it works out!

I'm pretty sure I saw mine draining into the engine bay, If you open the hood and look at the passenger side firewall above the exhaust you should see a little black tube coming out from the cab. I only noticed it because I was under the hood shortly after a storm so there was still some water coming out of it and it was sizzling on the hot exhaust. Haven't searched for the rear drain tube though.

Ok. thank you. I sort of thought that's what a drain tube would be for, but wasn't sure.

Appreciate the quick response.

Hello RandyE,

I definitely understand why this is concerning. Keep us updated on what you find out at the dealer. We're available via private message if any assistance is needed during service.

Picked up my new truck yesterday. The grommets, 1 was not installed at all just hanging the other not installed correctly. The dealer was not aware of this problem but they fixed before I took delivery.
This truck was made this month you would have thought this issue would have been fixed already at the plant,

Anyone have a picture of this?
